I think about how different things were good us in our 20’s and 30’s. My friends and I didn’t discuss works events or politics. We didn’t discuss the atrocities of life. We lived in our little bubble and discussed shared hobbies, movies, etc. it’s easier to be angry than happy. Requires less effort. And when they can go online and see video after video or people being outraged its and easy trap to fall into.

I started at My company in 1989 making 15,000 a year. I thought once I hit 30,000 I’ve made it. When I hit 30 I thought once I hit 60,000 I’ll never need more. When I hit 60 I thought of I break 100,000 I’m set. When I hit that I realized my life hadn’t changed that much. I’m at 150,000 a year now and my annual bonuses are more than my starting salary. In fact my pension is more than 60,000 a year. Just a couple of years out to start collecting. It’s very surreal.
This is fact. The media will let you believe Gen Z is struggling but they are in a better position than the previous generations. Don’t let the media fool you. I work in IT and every Gen Z I work with are smart with money. Investing young. Most own homes. They are doing fine.
