  1. It will never come to fruition. There will be hundreds of lawsuits filed to stop this sinister deal that soaks the existing shareholders with massive dilution while Shari walks away with cash.

  2. I don’t like having lawsuits being what I’m relying on but I agree overall

  3. Never got the concept to screw people out of what they’ve earned because of my own political beliefs. To each their own.

  4. It doesn’t have to do with political beliefs or the amount, it has to do with independence of the Board. That’s why it’s up for shareholder vote…I for one, will be voting no.

  5. "Sony and Apollo are also in discussions with Legendary Entertainment about participating in the proposed deal."

  6. No problem. Yeah it’s ludicrous.

  7. I wouldn’t say their valuation is ludicrous necessarily, given what they raised money on before and the expected growth rate (I’d say overvalued), but what I find ludicrous is why this would be a good deal for Paramount - what are we buying here that we don’t already have?

  8. Considering the gov is currently hiring 71k individuals a month countering the public markets unemployment rate, sure everyone will be working in the DMV and GDP will be booming thx to never ending gov paychecks:4640:

  9. Not true, check the job numbers on bls.gov before you start your BS - it’s 44k at Federal. States are actually hiring much more now (330k+) but neither of those numbers takes into account job turnover. According to FRED, government employed 22,830,000 in 2019, and 23,270,000 in 2024. So it has grown, but by 1.93%. Meanwhile GDP has grown 19%…

  10. Yes. Not as much as I would like because of current position size, but yes. Fundamentals are fundamental.

  11. Twitter was a principled buy, to protect and enhance free speech.   I'm happy that there is a billionaire out there that's willing to burn 44 billion for the greater good.

  12. What do folks think of Paramount buying out NAI? Any chance of this happening, do you see any issues with it?

  13. Super easy. Expand your working time horizon by 30 more years. Done, at $5M.

  14. Anyone hear of how he’s doing? I have a couple of small drawings that he did for me about 10 years ago. Would love to get back in touch if he’s still around

  15. Yes! If anyone has a copy of that list of sub members with large share counts it's a place to start from

  16. Did you figure this out? I was wondering if it would freeze well or not otherwise

  17. No, I never tried making it. I know store bought cafe yumm sauce does not freeze well, it will separate

  18. Yeah it doesn’t freeze well, I tried that, but it’s got some ingredients that aren’t here

  19. I got a letter. The settlement says if everyone claims we get a buck and change per share. Blargh.

  20. That's what I used to think. I was having a pleasant dream that the law would be followed and minority shareholder rights would be respected. Then I had to wake up and smell the coffee. They are just looking to get under the umbrella of the business judgment rule using as much moonshine and hope as possible. And magic beans. Boucoup magic beans.

  21. Don’t really want to rely on legal cases or a settlement to protect our interests. But I still think the deal result in a way better price than today in 1-3 years time.

  22. Everything is for the best in the best of all possible worlds. Skydance reportedly says that after they grab 41/90+% of the equity that's held by PARA shareholders for nothing their interests will be aligned with minority shareholders so a travesty like they are perpetrating by paying off Shari Redstone never can happen again.

  23. That’s right. Worst case we’re in for an even longer ride. But the assets have their value.

  24. Bloomberg article has some interesting tidbits that make it sound like the Skydance deal could be the one to turn the company around. A merger with a Peacock or Max, selling off BET and some other assets…could shape up to be positive

  25. Try archive.today - overall bullish article (though we may be in it for the long haul) with some details on the negotiations
