No, that should not be happening. Achievement info is stored in the file profile.dap . By default it should be in Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age/Settings. Check to make sure that the file and folder are not set to read-only.

For me the 4gb patch and launching through the EA launcher instead of steam and I’ve crashed maybe once between new character and the Landsmeet.

Most likely, yes. Those are all saved in the .ini file in that same directory.
Just a heads up! You were exactly right but I had to delete them from my one drive (which I had turned off) and now it’s all good! Thanks so much!
Don't download the prepatched exe files they don't work, get the app and patch your own exe then the crashes will stop.
