  1. While reddit can certainly advise you on good transit-oriented cities. I would take a breath after getting a big diagnosis to let yourself normalize.

  2. I remember dodging a car in a crosswalk who plowed through because they were speeding.

  3. Please cite the code for your claim about the 3 foot thing because it wasn’t listed in the exceptions.

  4. No, bicyclists are supposed to stay as far to the right as safely possible with a few exceptions like making a left hand turn and what not. Also bicyclists cannot ride more than two abreast.

  5. Bicycles absolutely may take the entire lane when it is safer to do so as they are considered vehicles.

  6. These employers aren't getting cheap valuable labor. These are tasks that are either completely unnecessary or things that a non disabled person could do 20x faster. It's a program to simply allow them something to do during the day and get out and build relationships.

  7. I believe my brother's labor had a lot of value to the community. Clearly the company agreed since they hired a replacement after he passed away.

  8. My brother was born with cerebral palsy, exhibited the expected muscle spasticity and cognitive difficulties, and was employed at below minimum wage for about 25 hours per week.

  9. Driving 5 to 10 miles per hour over the speed limit hardly counts as dangerous. Most people do this every day

  10. A city which sports a National Street Car Museum, a decommissioned steam locomotive for display, and a commuter rail line is the prime place to push for more transit including trams.

  11. every STEM friend i have says the only money is in the tech or engineering parts, not the science or math parts

  12. Physics PhD here. Every single one of my colleagues from graduate school who did not stay in academia is making between $120k and $250k within 3 years of graduation.

  13. Automatic ticketing is currently illegal in Massachusetts, and it should stay that way. No need for additional police surveillance for something that can be solved with landscaping.

  14. As a pedestrian / cyclist, even the dystopian nightmare people envision with speeding cameras sounds legitimately better than trying to share roads with most of the drivers on the road.

  15. 1400 sqft townhome built in the late 80s with one shared wall and a HVAC update in 2023. Temperature is kept at 68 all day and 60 at night.

  16. We have forced air with natural gas. Definitely nothing fancy. The prior owner did the upgrade before I bought. I wish I had a heat pump as I would love to move away from natural gas but that will have to be a future upgrade.

  17. I'm honestly not gonna take drivers complaining on this sub seriously considering I just saw my life flash before my eyes minutes ago at a crosswalk with no traffic light and a 🚸 sign that a bozo blasted through missing me by a hair even though 1) it's raining 2) I waved in his direction when he had ample space to slow down and 3) the car in the opposite direction had come to a stop for me. (Ok ok I know this comment probably isn't helpful for your question, just seemed like a good place to couch my traffic related frustration)

  18. Spitting facts. Cars are required to slow down before cross walks. How many actually do?

  19. Sichuan Garden in Woburn. As an added bonus, they have a national award winning bar inside as well.

  20. Yeah it was expensive and took forever, but The Big Dig was really awesome for Boston.

  21. Having moved from MPLS to Boston area, I can't tell if this is sarcasm.

  22. I have found connecting it to an external display to be finicky at best. This is frustrating as I use the deck about 50/50 docked and handheld. This is not a product of getting a cheap third party dock either, as I have the 1st party dock from valve.

  23. I actually heard many people say that the valve dock sucks. I have a cheap 3rd party dock and it works fine.

  24. That is so disheartening but it seems to be the case given all these responses. Can u make a suggestion for me?

  25. Is it any more assumptive to assume the car vs the moped was reckless?

  26. The section on licenses is extremely broad and does not limit it's scope to just contractors looking to use solvent based paints. See section 4, subdivision 1.

  27. Certainly that is very broad. It would mean that painting companies and contractors cannot paint unless they are licensed to do so.

  28. How do you get from "People are going faster than ever and more people are dying" to "We should increase the speed limit" ?!?!

  29. Not the person you are responding to, but motorists will only rationalize going faster because it benefits them.

  30. Absolutely. Police cannot effectively enforce speed limits when 20+ over the limit and excessive lane changing is the norm for so many people.

  31. Yet all the roads are clear.

  32. Read your leases folks. The tenants signed agreements that gave the property the right to relocate tenants within certain time frames. It's a lame way to do business but the property is within the legal agreement they made with the tenants.

  33. The onus is not on individuals to be aware about whether their lease is scummy. The onus is on society to outlaw scummy leases.

  34. I have found the deck to be a mixed bag for desktop mode. It just isn't as seamless as a switch which was a disappointment for me.

  35. I'm so glad to see comments effectively saying "Contentedness is the path to happiness."

  36. I'll try to report back for people if I see this too. I bike to work (25 min or so) 5 days / wk. I bring my deck to play during break. So if this is an issue, I'll probably see it very quickly.
