  1. Interestingly, there are models in physics which describe an eternal universe with an infinite past.

  2. One way that works for me is just playing a lot of slow games and calculating as much as possible without being lazy.

  3. There's an Android app called chess eye. It combines red herrings and tactics. You enter the best line using arrows. So it trains visualisation as well.

  4. I don't get how this type of puzzle is useful. I mean just do a staircase mate here, game is already won

  5. You are unlikely to reach the exact position in most puzzles during a game. Puzzles train your calculation and contain patterns that you can apply in other positions.

  6. Work has gotten hectic. I am planning to start working on it in a couple of months.

  7. I set the keyboard to its minimum (reasonably useful) height and I still have to scroll to use your app

  8. I will add an option to reduce the board size to half (configurable) when the keyboard is open. Then the entire board will be visible.

  9. Had this app installed anyway, but just gave it another go and I much prefer this update where you can move on the board.

  10. So you could take inspiration from this site:

  11. Amazing work, I love it. Had to change the wallpaper setting to 'stretch' so it fit my screen size but still looks great. Do you have a version with out the text?

  12. These quotes are from the book - The heart of Buddha's teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh. It gave me a different perspective about life. I recommend it to anybody suffering from strong emotions and searching for peace of mind.

  13. There is no way to change other people. Almost without exception you have to accept them as you find them. If they want to change thats up to them.

  14. Hello. Its not really insightful, particularly if you are living with your family. While your issue is trivial, if it was more serious, such as verbal abuse, you need to learn to tell your family to stop.

  15. Just tried it out for a few puzzles, seems pretty great as a change of pace from the normal puzzles :) Small feedback: The evaluation seems to be based on the end of the user entered line. I think it would be helpful, if there was an evaluation for both initial starting position and after the entered line (so you know if you lost your advantage f.e.)

  16. I've has instances where I was playing moves which were marked as green, but in the end the evaluation said "disadvantage". After copying the moves to lichess, I found out that I was playing slight inaccuracies, which lost the advantage bit by bit.

  17. Yea my app is much more lenient than lichess with inaccuracies because the emphasis is on avoiding invalid moves, blunders and mistakes during calculation.

  18. I really love this app, but I've noticed one odd thing: It will grade me as scoring 100% accuracy on a position if the line I enter is only one move long, and the move I enter is the best one. I suppose it's not technically wrong to do that? But it seems like it runs contrary to the spirit of the app, which is to make you game out long lines in your head.

  19. No worries:) I need constructive criticism to make the app better. Thanks for your kind words.

  20. Can i ask how you found these friends? I feel like theres no one around me i can relate to.

  21. I work from home. I moved from the city to a village in the mountains. It's a tight community where everybody knows each other.

  22. Thanks for the reply. Ive been thinking that the city just isnt for me. All my life its just been cities. Maybe its time i try something new.

  23. No worries :) You should definitely try it out. My experience is that it's definitely a less comfortable but a happier life.

  24. It's not compatible on my device. Is it possible to change that?

  25. Hello 👋. ChessEye is inspired by how strong players look at a position and tell you the best line. They also evaluate and describe the position at the end. So why not make it a habit and train this way?

  26. Thanks. I am working on a custom keyboard for entering moves easily and to avoid such mistakes.

  27. Yea you could even have an openings training where you have people in put the best moves of different openings. Like main lines and side variations.

  28. Cool. I'm thinking how this would fit in nicely into this app. Or I'll turn the idea into a different app.

  29. There was a study that most of Asia would be un-liveable by 2030 because of pollution. A bigger and upcoming concern is clean water shortage, which we might start facing at scale very soon.

  30. Watch MKBHD video on 5G. He too says what you are saying that 5G sucks right now and will probably will for the near future and speeds are much slower on the network compared to 4G.

  31. Cookies are a way of identifying you on the web. As you browse the web, they can track your activity and send it to various ad companies.

  32. I cook a lot of curry. It's enough for 3-4 days. On most days, I have to work only 10-15min making rice and reheating curry.

  33. YSK: A* reason it feels like some research is gatekept from the public behind paywalls and library access is to prevent people who are completely untrained in scientific research from grabbing an interesting headline and misrepresenting the results of a study.
