  1. Ipsy (all 3), FFF, Ellie Box

  2. Can you get the $10 credit for posting your favs product without actually buying anything?

  3. Down payment of $100k. We had 130k leftover. We did use about 50k of it on renovations (patio abd landscaping plus we got rid of all our old furniture and bought new). The rest is in case either of us lose our jobs. Replenishing the stash now to do our basement. (We are able to put about $4500 into savings each month.)

  4. Ok so what do you guys do for a living? Lol

  5. We both work in tech. Im head of project management and my husband is on the implementation team.

  6. The hardest class I took in college was called History of Prime Time TV. Most people failed it. I got an A. It was 2003 and Buffy was a new addition to the curriculum that year. (This was at Syracuse University.)

  7. Skincare only because I get so much in other boxes.

  8. I work in project management in tech and anyone in a client facing role in my company has to log their timesheets (including me, a director). It’s because some of our hours are billable so we need to know what to charge the clients but we do also track non-billable hours because it helps us plan resource allocation.

  9. I ordered a quick slick from Shop Miss A for &1 and it’s basically the same packaging.

  10. I didn’t want to shop due to the $50 limit but I found a few gifts. I didn’t even look at the annual only sale (I forgot it was happening)

  11. No regret. 576k at 2.75% in Aug 2020. Love the house and love the town we ended up in. We had budget to go much higher but we didn’t need to and now we’re living comfortably paying mortgage, our bills, and still saving about 5k per month.

  12. Our sellers left us a lawnmower. They didn’t want it back. We didn’t want it either since we had a nicer one already. I put it up on the town Buy Nothing page and it was gone the next day.

  13. Yes and no. I also get FFF and although I try to pick home/lifestyle items, lately some categories I’m stuck with make up and skin care. And while I don’t get boxy anymore, I still shop their sales.

  14. I had 2 Great Aunt Mildreds growing up… Also had 2 Great Uncle Miltons.

  15. In 2010, I started at a publishing house in NYC and my starting salary was 35k. I eventually got promoted up to 60k. My husband also made around 60k and the only way we could afford rent + daycare was to live in central Jersey, which was a 2 hour commute each way into NYC (and I did this daily). It also cost $30 per day to commute so I wasn’t saving much money.

  16. This made me real sad to think about all the lost wages I could have had if I moved industries 😢, it’s a struggle but I’m really hopeful that things will change and I can afford to work with the books I love while making a livable wage. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for but I guess the Harper execs disagree 🤷🏽‍♀️

  17. Yes i really hope they increase all salaries in publishing AND allow remote work. There’s no reason to be IN NYC on a daily basis. I truly think the publishing model in general needs to change and innovate. Ebook prices for trad pub are pricing mid-list authors out of the market. And I still think it’s crazy authors write entire books on spec.

  18. Married 12 years, together for 19 and we verrrrrry rarely watch TV together. I can only think of a handful of shows we like. (Succession and White Lotus are more recent examples.) I love trashy reality TV and CW shows, he prefers to watch old movies. It’s all good.

  19. I had both and had to cancel boxy due to too much overlap between the two. Ipsy is better IMO. Better products and less “filler” products. Better customization. Boxy has better sales but you can access those as a former subscriber.

  20. I’ve been subscribed for 5 years and my box shipped today too 🤷‍♀️

  21. Did you get the $15 add on boost for priority shipping?

  22. Well... out of everything, one item is a total repeat (the ABH setting powder) and the makeup pickins' are low. I wouldn't say that I had the best options to select from; it was a hella lot of skincare. That Artist Couture palette looks pretty sweet, & that was chosen on my behalf. So, all-in-all, not my BEST-EVER box, but I'm liking it alright and excited for it to get here. I'm definitely gonna review it!! :)

  23. I was super torn between the magnesium spray and the Alterna hair protectant. I am almost out of heat protectant so I felt like I had to choose that and was sad to let the magnesium go. But it was in add ons so I snagged it!

  24. We are almost bag twins with the exception of the last item!

  25. That was my toughest choice! I did add the magnesium spray in add ons though!

  26. Had trouble choosing because I liked so majuelo options! I ended up picking up the magnesium spray as an add on. I really wanted the cloud cream!

  27. Port Authority! I regret sleeping on Sparrow last month- and how could anyone say no to such a beautiful wine color! 😍

  28. I got Sparrow last month and love it! I got tons of compliments on it when I wore it to Target!

  29. Ellie features Wildfox which I guess as an agreement with Coke. I'm 41 and don't care to wear advertisements anymore. The Coke outfits don't appeal to me.

  30. Also 41 and also don’t want to wear coke.

  31. people are saying it's illegal and it's not lol. you weren't charged for anything yet and the price was clearly listed correctly. they only have to tell us when the sub price changes, nothing else.

  32. I ran it by my sister who is a lawyer specializing in advertising law. She says it actually is illegal because people locked in the annual rate based on spoilers, which clearly stated this category had $12 add ons. Additionally, it’s also illegal because the advertisement for these items may have convinced someone to buy the box and lured them to the website. That said, they seem to be honoring refunds in these instances and that’s what they need to do to get around this legally. The fact is, no one is going to sue over $3.

  34. This is exactly why I’m not getting it. I have sensory processing disorders and tags are one of my main issues. I cut them out of everything. Not risking this.

  35. I’m getting it for daughter for sleepaway camp.
