per the rep i just talked to, the closing of the account is tied to the transfer of the shares out of the account. So transfer the shares which should now be book (but in the dspp acct) from that DSPP account to the "book" account and it should get rid of the 0 share DSPP account.
If you figure this out, please post a guide.

People are speculating that the empty plan account is a backdoor for the DTC to access the booked shares for "operational efficiency".
I sent them an inquiry to completely cancel it so hopefully that's enough to get it resolved. If not, I'll call them in a few days. It's ridiculous we have to go to these lengths to not have our investments fucked with.

I already did. That's why it's at zero. I terminated Plan, the fractional sold, but a plan account still shows up under my Book shares as a zero balance. I
