I am a shareHODLer of a company that is under investigation by the SEC and that company is GameStop. GME has been reporting this active investigation on their 10-Q form for almost 2 years now and it just won't go away. Some of my frenz also suspect that Citadel and Point72 may be involved.

The People have the power, they just don't know it. Look what has happened with unions and workers' rights lately. It has been nothing but an uphill battle, where companies will close stores/warehouses rather than unionize, but still people have succeeded in unionizing. Workers have also been successful in negotiating work-from-home agreements for a better work/life balance. And there has only been the pushback we've seen because fighting back actually makes a difference. I believe it's unlikely the system can be fixed the way that it is, but fighting for it is very worthwhile, especially when it's just sending emails advocating for reform. And if this system can't be fixed, we'll have a lot more people engaged and educated to protect the next; people will find ways to manipulate that, too.
I mostly agree except for the part about fighting for it being “very worthwhile” fighting for a system that needs to be dismantled & replaced feels like a misuse of time and distraction to me personally.
I meant the fight itself is the worthwhile part; it contributes to a new breed of investors who understand how things work, at least a lot better than before. If we're unwilling to engage now, there's no reason to believe we'll engage in any new system. And for what it's worth, I completely understand how you feel and why you feel that way!
