IMO Reddit is trying to drive the third party apps out of business to force people to use their app. According to the head of Apollo Reddit is asking for about $2.50 per user per month, but currently claim to make approximately $0.12 per user per month from ads. Ok so let’s back test this theory. Essentially for it to be correct you would need for Reddit and the HFs to have predicted MOASS to the day it would happen about 3 months ago. Then picked an API fight months in advance until 2 weeks before MOASS was scheduled. This either requires HFs to also work with mods or have gotten extremely lucky that the mods chose the dates of MOASS to protest. If HFs are they powerful they should just request Reddit deletes this sub right when MOASS kicks off.
