John Fetterman, lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, had a marijuana flag and a pride flag hanging outside his office. Republican lawmakers passed legislation to have them removed. Fetterman says he’ll stop flying the flags when weed is legalized and lgbt rights become law.

Press release quote:
Analyzing comments from kids that are unable to look after themselves counts as a viable source of data?
In a democracy where even the uniformed can vote, is it not important to understand what drives the attitudes of those individuals?
Why is this news about a public policy development labeled "NSFW"?
Great question! I did not know how sensitive the moderators of this subreddit are with regards to “cannabis”. Clearly this is not very NSFW if at all, but marijuana is still not seen as a SFW topic by all (even though it should be).
Thank you for the reply. In general I think it is important to distinguish between content about changing laws and public policies, which is everyone's right to discuss as an American, and content about breaking laws, which could indeed be seen as not safe for work. In any case, thanks for sharing the article!
Thanks for answering questions from the public.
"Make important decisions about settlement legislation to keep populations happy."

No, in fact, the speaker of the House has never previously pledged to put legalizing marijuana on the ballot.
This post from the mods contains misinformation. The appropriations bill that the report language is attached to became effective with the president's signature on December 27, meaning the report is due today, June 25.
Just noting that the post has now been updated to display the correct due date. Thanks!
[удалено]
Where are you seeing that the legislation went into effect on January 1? My understanding is that it became effective immediately with the president's signature on December 27.
[удалено]
This is not correct. Appropriations legislation takes effect immediately upon the signature of the president. On what basis are you suggesting January 1 is the effective date?
The headline is totally misleading if you actually read the article. The VA is not opposed to marijuana, just one specific bill about it. Also the guy who opposed the bill was appointed by Trump not Biden.
The headline literally says "Marijuana Research Bill ."
Are we seeing this somewhere aside from a weed-centric news source?
The primary source documents are linked. As we do.
I’m pretty sure this happened months ago. Still exiting though.
Incorrect. The governor made the appointments on Tuesday.
Hmm on the measure it states that “on or before February 28th the governor shall appoint the individuals to the Oregon Psilocybin Board and hold its first meeting on or before March 31st”.
Yup, she was behind schedule. You can look at the date on the governor's press release if you are still in doubt.
Info and quotes from Fetterman about the marijuana flag fight with the GOP here:

No, this is a federal bill in Congress.
they don’t have a chance, but i admire their effort.
A poll last year found that 73% of Idaho voters support legalizing medical cannabis.
Yeah but since when do politicians care what people want?
That's why advocates are pursuing this issue via a ballot initiative, which circumvents politicians.
Is it too much to ask that the article give us the name of the senate bill that was put forward so we can actually read it?
The full text of the legislation is embedded below the article.
I'm sure the consumer reaction to the company's drug policy reform philanthropy has been overwhelmingly positive, but have any customers ever complained about it or boycotted because they oppose those efforts?
Are you able to provide additional data on the types of criminal suspects/defendants that law enforcement agencies request information on? How many requests are for drug cases, for example?
me too lmao. I've learned so much about Virginia's legislative process through all this.
Marijuana: The gateway drug to political engagement.
Does your support for decriminalizing opioids extend to other drugs, perhaps psychedelics such as psilocybin?
As a side note, this website has been seriously on point with their articles lately. If you sort this sub by new you can see the amount of quality content they've put out today alone.
Thanks for saying that! I only take issue with the "lately" qualifier :-)
