The 90% effective stat is related to reducing symptom severity in the population they initially studied. That means 10% of people will get just as sick and possibly end up in the hospital or even die. Think about that. Even with millions of vaccinated people, we still have millions of infections because delta is really good at spreading, and being vaccinated does not keep you from actually getting infected. So take those millions of cases, and imagine 10% of them ending up hospitalized. Thatās a lot of people. This isnāt news. Weāve known this from day one. Itās also not a knock against how impressively effective the vaccine actually is. If youāre vaccinated, MOST people can just carry on with their lives knowing we have a new endemic respiratory virus akin to the flu.
For vaccinated attendees, donāt stress about it. Vaccinated people can and will test positive for COVID. Weāve known this from day one of the data in the vaccines. The primary impact of the vaccine is effectively reducing severity of symptoms WHEN you get COVID. This thing is with us forever if you didnāt already know that. The goal is to turn it into the equivalent of the flu through widespread immunity (vax or take a risk getting sick).

This is up there for me, but Suffering Hour instantly took number one early this year, and they are still holding. Itās been ages since Iāve heard a band with a legitimately original tone/sonic atmosphere that I also felt a deeply visceral connection to.
The difference is Luc Lemay is 10 times the better songwriter than Ad Nauseam. This album is interesting for sure and loaded with all sorts of wonkiness, but it severely lacks in depth and personality IMO.
I actually agree to an extent. Luc is a living legend. The rest of the band, especially Obscura era, were also crucial parts of the chemistry that made that record into one of the most important underground metal records of all time. So itās almost unfair to set the bar of comparison so high, but itās hard not to given the similarities in tone, timing, and song structure. AN still has enough personality to keep me grooving along though.
