Weil ich es von US-Dividenden so gewohnt bin, habe ich lange geglaubt, es würde genauso auch auf Aktiengewinne die US-Kapitalertragssteuer als Quellensteuer erhoben. Das ist allerdings nicht der Fall. Auf Gewinne von so genannten “nonresident aliens” (= Ausländer mit steuerlichem Wohnsitz außerhalb der USA) aus Aktienveräußerungen wird von den USA überhaupt keine Steuer erhoben. Mit Einreichen des W-8BEN weißt man sich sozusagen als nichtresidierender Außerirdischer aus. \👽/ hurra!

Habe heute das zweite mal unter der 00800-38233823 angerufen - für den ersten Brief. Und wieder kam nur die Auskunft man könne den Brief nicht über das UK-Büro versenden, der Brief sei am 10. Jan aus USA verschickt worden. Was ist da los?! Ich bin verwirrt...

Hatte mich bei denen über Twitter gemeldet mit dem Resultat ich soll hier anrufen +800 3823 3823 war dann auch ganz easy und der Brief wurde per Airmail verschickt ohne Diskussion oder Gebür. Nach 8 Tagen war der Brief dann tatsächlich im Briefkasten
