Random Poker Dealer Story

  1. Most of my stories are only interesting because a "famous" person happened to be present. Everyone knows poker is boring as fuck until it isn't ;)

  2. Agree with your assessment on Phil. I was at his table for an hour or so at a smaller WSOP event back in 2006. He was nothing but polite and gracious, even when he busted out thanks to a questionable call from his opponent. Of course, there were no cameras around at the time.

  3. Yeah, I've dealt to him a few times not on camera and he's just like every other poker player, sitting there quiet and folding.

  4. 5 years of dealing the WSOP I somehow only managed to deal one hand to PH. It was in one of the tag team events. He sat down, folded one hand pre-flop so he could qualify as a member of the team, then left.

  5. I only saw her once and I never dealt to her. I did a restart where both Antonio and Phil Laak were at my table and she came by to drop off food for them.

  6. Reminds me of Abe Simpson. In fact, I got a real funny story about that. Actually, it's not so much funny as it is long.

  7. I actually find Phil hilarious. I wouldn’t say I’m a fan of his, but I’m definitely not someone who hates him either. Every single time he pulls his “this is just sick,” I fkn die of laughter. I appreciate him being in the poker scene, even if I’m not a fan of his.

  8. I understand if he is doing it for the TV.But acting or not u need to have a limit for your words and actions. Lots of time it felt like he was really being an asshole.

  9. No one really noticed because it was the hand right before break, so they were more focused on getting up to go to the bathroom or get something to drink. I'm sure I thought about it more than any of the players at the table.

  10. Very interesting story, thanks for sharing! Also, I will be dealing the WSOP this year for my first time. Any tips/suggestions you have?

  11. Biggest tip ever: wash your hands three times more than you usually do. Poker players are filthy. Every break, go to the bathroom and wash your hands.

  12. Interesting. I've probably dealt to him 5-6 times and he was completely fine. Even the table from the story where he was on TV, he was behaving himself better than usual.

  13. Usually the featured tables are a part of a rotation. If there’s 3 featured tables during the Main Event, they’ll have 5 or 6 dealers in that rotation. 3 to deal, 1-2 as runners for when something is needed, 1-2 on break. You get paid downs for when your running or on break only for the featured tables
