Afghan women protest in Kabul for right to education, the Taliban police opened fire and start shooting at them randomly.

  1. Imagine being a man and not wanting your wife to succeed and be treated equally, with dignity and respect.

  2. Yeah too bad another country didn't spend two decades of blood and treasure to provide a stable government that the people immediately handed over to these shitheads.

  3. If theyd have actually fought for their country, this wouldnt be a thing. They outnumbered the Taliban by a factor of 3 or more and just laid down and let the Taliban steamroll the country.

  4. Even worse then that tho. Atleast during the american led invasion they get some freedom from this fucking repressive Islamic bullshit. So this generation of women experienced at least someone more progressive Afghanistan but now they are going right back to what it was before. The fact that you need to decide between this current bullshit or the bullshit that is a foreign power coming into your country and bombing the shit out it sucks tho

  5. Exactly. I know the US has its problems and honestly I'd probably rather have been born in Canada or some European country but my life here is obviously a lot closer to those places than it is to one of these Middle Eastern countries

  6. Brain drain is real. By the time you smart enough to understand how to fix it, you are way past smart enough to leave for a better life.

  7. They don’t oppose education Itself, but Quran verse 33:33 orders women to always remain at home. So Taliban wants to impose sharia by stopping women from going out for education or any other purpose

  8. I am in awe of these ladies in Afghanistan and Iran, relatively defenceless courage is as great a courage there can be, my hat is tipped. I hope that American women take notice and cast their own religious elected zealots. A Muslim zealot, a Christian zealot, any oppressive religious zealot is Taliban, does not matter the religion.

  9. Knowledge equals power, freedom equals critical thinking etc they can’t have that over there now can they!!! Same reason the fuckers burn down all the ancient libraries in centuries gone. Books equal knowledge and power and that is the enemy of religious doctrine in their eyes. The country is fucked now they’ve had a taster of freedom and liberty and now it’s gone again. Back to their one book and a bleak futureless life for them. Best thing those women can do is find a way out of the country for themselves and their families, nothing will change their now.

  10. It's not that they hate them. It's that they don't want them to change and the men don't want to lose their servants. Women over there are just domestic slaves. There's places that have markets where father's will trade their daughters for livestock like chicken or cows because they're worth more compared to her. Theyre meant to cook, clean, never leave the house unless specifically granted permission (and even then theyre required to have a man with them), must put out (accept sex) even when they don't want it, and their only purpose in life is to produce sons to carry on the family name, some places even require women to hold pebbles in their mouths so they don't "tempt men" or "seduce men".

  11. Oh boy wait till you find out that slavery is still a huge industry and many countries have 3rd, 5th, 6th generational prison camps for political opponents and their families.

  12. The Taliban actually aren’t against women education Itself, but Quran verse 33:33 orders women to always remain at home. So Taliban wants to impose sharia by stopping women from going out for education or any other purpose. This what their grand mufti said when he was asked by aljazera journalist about women education.

  13. Actually, the women in Afghanistan have been protesting ever since the Taliban took over last year. This is one of many protests they have done this year alone. Regardless, it doesn't matter who inspired who. It matters that we echo their voices and show support in whatever way possible.

  14. What is very wacky to me is that they just kill women that are going against what they like, if this attitude keeps happening eventually they are going to run out of women, and then what ???

  15. I get what you’re saying but technically Afghanistan is not in the Middle East. It’s more like a women spring taking place in Muslim majority countries

  17. I'm rooting for these women, obviously. But writing "shooting at them" when they clearly are shooting in the air is a bit fucking misleading.

  18. Taliban are a group of men afraid of women. Taliban feel they are only a man if they have a gun. You take it from there, sparky...

  19. I saw a woman in the middle of the road in Fallujah skinned alive with a sign nailed to her collarbones that said "This is what happens when you go against the teachings of Allah". Poor woman was just sending her daughters to school.

  20. When you are occupied by the taliban... known for their religious crusades and martyrdom.. where they will kill and are willing to die if anyone slanders their faith. Even though this is more about women rights and less about religion, that might not be the best place to join the protest right now.

  21. Islam and women's rights, or to be specific.. the lack thereof, go hand in hand. Theyre not mutually exclusive. Wherever Islam there is womens oppression.

  22. They need to hide their own AKs under their hijab and when they pull that shit about 20 of them pull them out and mow down those mutherfuckers

  23. I remember some Islamic girls who I went to school with saying how Islam is the most pro women and liberating religion and I couldn’t help but laugh. Thousands of years ago maybe but now absolutely not

  24. muhammad's first wife was a very wealthy jewish woman who inherited her wealth and had her business really thriving under her, the country even nicknamed her "princess" because of her generosity. under islam, women receive less inheritance than men. there are books by scholars that make counter arguments against the claim that polytheist arab was less feminist than islam and suspect that it's all just islamic propaganda. islam when they invaded a country, they removed the country's history and replaced everything with propaganda

  25. Things like this go on on the world yet we have privileged ignorant 1st world problem individuals within the U.S. who have never left the country let alone their home town yet want to complain about how bad the u.s. is because of subjective generalized opinions on how the U.S. handles the subject of women, LGBT+, religion, etc. Never mind the fact there are literally countries in 2022 that if you are the aforementioned, you are not even treated as second class, a damn camel/goat has more rights than you in some countries, or it's actually legal that you be put to death merely for being who you are. The U.S. isn't not perfect and far from it, but considering the other realities people face, you don't have much to complain about, and this is coming from a minority in the U.S. stfu, your life isn't as hard as you want people to believe it is.

  26. Totally agree. Plus this should definitely have a TW or something else. I don’t want to randomly see something like this in my home feed. It’s terrible as fuck and I am looking at this right before going to sleep.

  27. People need to stop defending islam with the usual "christians done shitty things too" argument.

  28. These women are in an unfortunate position where they’re going to have to do most of the fighting themselves because the men have utterly failed them. It’s tragic and heartbreaking.

  29. The women of Afghanistan have shown more bravery than the actual Afghan Army did. They've been standing up to the Taliban for more than a year. Meanwhile, the dipshits in the Afghan Army couldn't even last 20 days against the Taliban. Like seriously, those cowards knew damn well what would happen if the Taliban took over. And the fuckers let it happen anyway.

  30. The [Religion of Peace]( is responsible for 42,223 attacks by Islamic terrorists since September 11th, 2001 — most of them killing more than one person. Just 4 days ago, a suicide bomber killed 57 young women sitting for exams at their school in Afghanistan. There were 80 more injured. The religion of Islam has been the direct cause of an unquantifiable amount of violence and oppression on this world. It is to a degree that can’t even be compared to any other religion.

  31. Sad part is they had a chance, US left them with an army and weapons, but not the will to fight like the Ukrainians.

  32. Really wish we had stayed out of Iraq so we could have done Afghanistan properly. The War in Afghanistan was a legitimate response to a country providing space for terrorists to do terrorist shit. And when that spilled over into an attack on our country we had every right to affect regime change through war.

  33. We did fix it for two decades. Spent billions training the ANA and allowing a centralized government to take hold. We left and they handed the keys to the talibs in less than a week. The people of Afghanistan chose the taliban.

  34. Islam. A total and complete shit stain on the world. I mean all religions suck, but they currently lead the way in total shit score.

  35. And these woke nuts say we have systematic oppression. Now this boys and girls or whatever THIS is oppression engraved into society.

  36. We fucked up and raised an entire generation with western values and ideas and then turned them back over to the cavemen that were in charge for decades. Truly psychopathic whether intended or not. I honestly don’t know which would be worse. I’m so sorry women of Afghanistan.

  37. When we went to Afghanistan the Taliban were popular because they were the only force opposed to widespread uncontrolled child rape of young boys. The basis for their fighters willing to die for them was this- survivors who wanted better for their kids. But of course they won't say that is why because who wants to talk about traumatic abuse so they make it about Islam. If you can't ease up old-fashioned patriarchal and religious traditions without releasing a plague of child rape on the population that they held back, then you can't ease up on patriarchal and religious traditions. Expecting a mostly illiterate society based on manual labour and constant tribal warfare to jump 500 years forward because you say it is a good idea is appalling mistreatment of a vulnerable populace. Of course, as the victims here are male nobody gives a shit.

  38. Not enough of them wanted us there. If it takes an occupation force to enforce a philosophy, should we be there any longer?

  39. Dont want to be insensetive, but what else did they expect? You cant expect people who dont have the capacity for logical reasoning to hear your peaceful opinion. They already brainwashed themselves into thinking they have the highest morals and so this act of cruelty, insanity and unforgiveness is actually a good thing in their eyes.

  40. These women having the courage to do this in the face of guaranteed failure is amazing. They know the consequences but still refuse to be silent to their oppressors. The face of true bravery.

  41. I think I would be fair to say if police shoot at innocent people then they are now the enemy of the people and need to be dealt with

  42. Some context: There was a bombing by suspected Daesh/ISIS-K just a few days ago that targeting Shia Afghans, who are predominantly Hazara, a marginalized ethnic group. Over 30 women and girls were killed in the attack. The Taliban have so far failed in defeating ISIS-K and have been accused by Pakistan of harboring Pakistani terrorists while the Taliban accuse the Pakistanis of letting the US use their air bases to attack Afghanistan.

  43. God is so fucking great he has to allow these assholes to make life a living hell for anyone who asks for basic human rights and needs. Shit like this makes me regret being born on this god forsaken rock.

  44. Burns my soul to realize I spent 14 months there to keep these shitheads at bay others spent longer only for it all to crumble the moment we left…life and limb for nothing…

  45. The only reason I'm laughing is because national public radio was kind of applauding the Taliban taking over and somehow believing that they would allow any type of rights for women. I was sitting there wondering how they could be so gullible. Everyone knew this is how this would end up. Such a tragedy.

  46. This video should serve as a reminder as to why scholars need to arm themselves. If you can be responsible you should be able to keep them safely and hope to never need them. Because those who want to oppress others through violence will use it because it’s their only tool. Get a permit, get a gun, go train and hope to never need to use it but if a fight is coming, bring something better than a knife.

  47. That's a great way to stay in power gun down women in the street, their sons and fathers will never be resentful about that

  48. See if they had an education they'd know that the taliban don't give a shit about women's rights and have exactly zero moral compass to point them away from shooting at protesters.
