Job wanting me to relocate to Houston. What neighborhoods should I be looking for apartments in?

  1. "west of 45 and north of Sam Houston Tollway" is Greenspoint, affectionately called "Gunspoint". High crime area. I would pick another neighborhood to live in if I were you.

  2. Lmao, exactly the kind of information I was looking for. The position requires a lot of driving to and from job sites so I'll be all over houston. Don't mind driving a bit to be in a good area at night.

  3. Not sure your budget but was living downtown on buffalo bayou and commuting to the same place for three years. Going against traffic was a breeze. Loved my apt and location was fantastic. Marquis lofts on Sabine.

  4. I'll check it out. Not the biggest fan of living downtown but if it's a nice area and an easy commute I'll consider it! Thank you!

  5. The majority of my adult life has been in Montrose , by far the best neighborhood in Houston and also incredibly far from the north ! The woodlands is lovely and has everything you need to not commute into Houston proper .

  6. I work in that area and live in spring just south of the woodlands. The commute is a breeze but going downtown is a bit of a chore. The area around your job is pretty rough. I’d recommend spring/woodlands.

  7. Anything a few miles north of the I-10 is good is not wanting to worry about your house getting flooded during hurricane season is your thing
