Was not a great month for gaming…

  1. Felt really proud of myself for not buying any of these titles. Even though I was super excited for GTA, the red flags were going off even before release.

  2. I actually haven’t seen a single person bitching about Vanguard. I keep seeing it in memes like this, but everyone seems to be enjoying it.

  3. Not as much as they could if they were really good. These corporation will learn one day… oh they’ll learn they’ve become complacent.

  4. I was gonna post this too, the way Reddit acts you'd think only like two or three games come out every month and they're all the giant studio ones

  5. I haven't touched a racing game for like 15 years and Forza blew me away. Halo is amazing gameplay. Just don't cave for their micro transactions or should I say MASSIVE transactions

  6. SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UPSHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UPSHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UPSHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UPSHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UPSHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UPSHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UPSHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP

  7. Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 and Shin Megami Tensei V all came out this month and are great games for their genres so swings and roundabouts.

  8. Okay I know the GTA trilogy tanked, but is 74 and 71 not generally considered "pretty good" for a game? Not "FANTASTIC" or "LEGENDARY" but still serviceable with a few flaws? Or are we back on the ol' 2010 method of scaling where 9-10 were "acceptable" and 8-or-less was "LITERAL GARBAGE"?

  9. Those are the critic ratings not the user ratings. Which for awhile the cognitive dissonance between user ratings and critic ratings in the gaming industry has been laughable for years. Honesty a 71 for a AAA basically means 4/10. While a 51/10 means dumpster fire. All these games received sub 4/10 by gamers. Triple AAA games start at 70 when it comes to critics and it's really just a joke.

  10. People don't expect ,,pretty good" games from one of the biggest companies. Especially when we're talking about Call of duty and battlefield. 70 is pretty good for medium games.

  11. At least halo did good... if they just fix there absolutely ridiculous mtx it would be great everything else is fine.

  12. Holy circle jerk, Batman! Just when we thought they couldn’t make yet another post about the same 3 games sucking, they bloody went and did it!

  13. Why do you think Kardashians are so popular? People love drama, and we have the kings and queens of drama on reddit lol.

  14. I really enjoyed the trilogy and hadn't really checked online and was surprised to see people fucking hate it

  15. Yeah me and all my friends have been digging it, actually the first CoD the any of friends have been out playing me.

  16. Not a great month for ps5. Xbox is loving this month. Fh5 and halo infinite both released. I've played fh5 and that was legendary. I haven't played halo tho. Not a halo fan personally but I've heard a lot of good things about it

  17. It has its issues but gameplay is great. I’m shocked to say It’s the most fun I’ve had with any halo multiplayer.

  18. I think of them like grading in school where 70s is average with a C grade. Not a bad game but also not really good.

  19. GOOD. Maybe these people will start to realize you can't just ship anything and expect everyone to love it just because of it's brand.

  20. And R* didn’t even show gameplay or anything for the game like they knew it was horrible from the start

  21. Literally no other shooter game ever had gunplay as smooth as cod had with its mw2019 engine. A lot of cod players(including me) want to casually play a fps game with respawning modes but for some weird reason very few games ever tried to beat cod at, well, cod

  22. Yeah I have no clue why people are surprised that bf2042 is somewhat of a mess on release. It's not even close to the worst release of a bf game either. I mean bf4 was literally unplayable but everyone just ignores that and shits on 2042 day one because it isn't perfect

  23. Unpopular opinion but i enjoy Vanguard. Its pretty fun, ye there are glitches here and there but these are very easy to fix. Overall gameplay is fun

  24. I was wondering if there were any other players actually enjoying it. I know people roll their eyes at another WWII shooter but as a history buff who has been aching for more video game experiences that depict the South Pacific, African, and Eastern Front theaters of the war, this was perfect for me. I suck at multiplayer so I don't spend much time there, but I do like the zombies mode which admittedly is a bit bare bones at this time and will hopefully grow over time.

  25. Feel the same way. Took a break from CoD the past couple years, but have really enjoyed the multiplayer (aside from respawning on shipment) on Vanguard.

  26. Yeah man many people who circle jerk here have never played the games and just post for karma/to be in the loop. There are definitely some problems that the game has, like all do, but overall it’s nowhere near as terrible as everyone is making it to be.

  27. Dude you should be enjoying it. These circle jerk memes are getting ridiculous. I’m enjoying battlefield, is it perfect? Nah. But it’s fun enough.

  28. Vanguard has been fun to play. The usual complaint is that COD is the same shit every year, but that’s not always a bad thing. After seeing SO MANY hyped games fail over the last two years, it’s nice to actually get what I’m paying for.

  29. Yea sure if you only like shooters and don't have access to halo, november sucked. If you like any games outside of the most mainstream shooters, november was great.

  30. Eh? The month with Forza Horizon 5 and SMTV was not a great month for gaming? Maybe if your gaming universe begins and ends with PlayStation lol

  31. Exactly! Very enjoyable one, too. Very little sympathy for people who insist on buying games on or before release and getting burned time after time.

  32. People just wanted to hate it for some reason, they were jerking off about how COD was finished because of battlefield 2042

  33. Thank you! I've had CoD games where I've returned them pretty quickly (I'm looking at you BO4). But I feel this CoD is one of the better experiences I've had with the series. Had no attachment to Cold War (played but not invested). The only issue I have with this is the teams set up in MP like there are no opposing factions. Just a red team and a blue team. I don't know why that annoys me but it does.

  34. Honestly I think a 70 isn't a bad score, to me it reflects a good game that has flaws but has potential. I haven't touched COD, but the other two are no where close to a 70 for me.

  35. Literally, we're at a point now where people think anything sub 90 is pure gutter trash which is crazy looking back to 20 years a go.

  36. Yeah it's basically because publishers have professional reviewers by the balls. Basically saying review this good or no more advanced copies ever again or we'll pull the adverts from your site.

  37. Look at the user scores, rather than the critic scores. The best games are consistently those that are 85+ critic score, with a closely matching user score.

  38. What bugs are you experiencing? Other than the void glitch—which necessitates execution—I haven’t encountered any. Having an absolute blast playing this gen I skipped. So much more fun than Sword imo.

  39. Forza Horizon 5 as a big game saved the month and year for me. Wasn’t going to buy or play any of the 3 taking the L

  40. Yes, it was. Halo, Forza, SMTV, Unpacking, Let's Build a Zoo, Bright Memory, Sherlock Holmes, Moncage, Dysmantle, Factory Town, Gunfire Reborn, Exo One. Stop obsessing about AAA games.

  41. It also feels like it was supposed to be a battle royale game that got turned into an "actual" Battlefield game halfway through development or so. It doesn't feel like Battlefield, more like Apex Legends trying to emulate Battlefield. The bugs are one thing, the myriad of highly questionable design decisions is something else entirely

  42. I'm not gonna write a 243 word essay on my opinion, but basically. Bf2043 waa not rhat bad. It's fun. I'm tired of people saying it's shit.

  43. Yeah it’s a solid game so far to me. Nothing groundbreaking but it’s a fun game and I’m sure the bugs will be fixed that people are experiencing. I bet most of the people circlejerking about how bad it is haven’t even played it.

  44. Crazy how there are thousands of negative reviews yet the game still have a massive consistent player base. Goes to show that the people shitting on the game are the same people who actually find it quite fun and play it anyway.

  45. Not a great year I would say. I have no fucking idea which game should I choose as Steam GOTY. I feel like no one deserves it.

  46. I have bought CoD every year since the one that launched on 360. I played the multiplayer every year since the original Black Ops on 360. It is the only online game I enjoy. All that being said, FUCK ACTIVISION. I am never supporting them until change happens so I WILL NOT be buying this POS. Fuck Rockstar. Fuck EA.

  47. Yes it was, Insurgency: Sandstorm added the P90 so now I can pretend to be a member of SG1! This is the best shooter since Quake II.

  48. If you’ve been underwhelmed by COD and battlefield I’d recommend insurgency sandstorm. Amazing game

  49. Even though this game released on PC way back it still slaps. Solid gameplay and the game doesn't beg for your money after buying.

  50. I’m having a great time with battlefield. So maybe the post should say it’s not a great month for the vocal minority in gaming.

  51. Can you believe that Animal Crossing was a much better game than all three of the so call “hardcore” games combined?

  52. I’m not speaking for anyone else but I’m tired of those kind of shooting games. They are really the same thing every year.

  53. Vote with your wallets. These companies will keep giving us trash as long as there is enough profit to be made.

  54. I can’t believe Battlefield 2042 actually received a score of 71. It should’ve been much lower.

  55. Just goes to show how horrible the fake community is. Makers are making absolutely horrible games and charging crazy money for em. Yet people keep buying. We all need to stop supporting these companies that just remake garbage or these broken ass games they still launch.

  56. If these 3 games are what constitutes good games getting released then I’ve never played a good game.

  57. It was a fine month if you have learned to let go of AAA developers. They let you down countless times and yet you keep going back to them like a psychotic abusive relationship.

  58. You are playing the wrong games if these are the only ones you are claiming to be bad this month. there is still pokemon, smtv, league of legends: Ruined King, and many more.

  59. Bruh I must be a minority because I actually like Vanguard multiplayer. Unless all the hate comes from zombies then it should probably be lower honesty.

  60. Wow 3 games with 2 of them being average scores. Must have been terrible. I wouldn’t know because I played another game that came out this month called shin megami tensai 5.

  61. Imagine spending your time online bitching about bad games when you could just be playing the plenty good ones out there.

  62. Its so baffling to me that you all act like this is something new. No, that shit has been going on for decades and you all have been fanboying over it like mad.

  63. I bought Battlefield. Hell, I bought a PS5 just to play Battlefield. Hometown friends are on it, it’s just social for me really, so whatever. I like Battlefield how bad could it be.

  64. You're not the only one, there's at least a hundred thousand people (based on Steam counts) playing daily presumably having fun just like you. The people that aren't having fun (or are just pissed off for one reason or another) are complaining on the internet.

  65. You’re not. Reddit is the vocal minority of people playing video games but they cry the loudest.
