Met Joel Today In Person

  1. First of all the approach was rude. Couldve handled it a little different. On the other hand, famous people love it when they have some time for themselves. Like joel wanting just to light a cig and chill for a while. Then a kid like you comes and says FIST BUMP!

  2. I’ve been lucky enough to have met multiple artists and have not once asked for a picture. Not my style. Just wanna say hello for that once in a lifetime opportunity. They have all been pretty rad except for today.

  3. I feel so bad for anyone with a fan base. Unless it’s a meet n greet or something, people probably usually just want to be left alone. Airports are stressful and that first nicotine fix after a flight can be pretty sacred as well. Idk, I don’t think wanting a private moment to oneself is something that warrants being called a dick online. Just my two cents.

  4. Yep, that’s what I took away from it! I had to say hello at least, otherwise I woulda regretted it forever.

  5. He probably just doesn't like being recognized out in the public outside of his concerts, which is understandable. I'm sure it would've gone a little bit better if it was a VIP meet and greet photo after one of his shows or something like that.

  6. welp, honestly it's not like you could've done anything better if you really wanted to meet him, but idk. Maybe the guy just wanted a peaceful smoke 🤷🏽‍♀️

  7. While I agree to some extent with some of the comments in that it could’ve been handled a little bit different, I also think that celebrities know that they will be approached and for the most part don’t mind depending on the situation and the approach.

  8. There are celebrities who go both ways, obviously everyone knows he’s a douche in person. Who knows I probably would be too. I don’t think you’re cringe but arrogant celebrities definitely are. I absolutely love his tracks but he needs to remember his fans are why he’s famous and with that fame comes a choice. He chose, poorly.

  9. I think it kinda depends on the crowd - electronic music subs are full of threads where people are all "I met so-and-so and they were SO nice!! gushgushgush" so probably for a lot of folks it's jarring to have just a neutral experience.
