College, man

  1. because he was in game lobby and ur question poped-up so he replied quick for not getting disturbed while aiming a snipe shot.

  2. Hey, you write very clearly, I just want to help with one little correction. "Doubt" is not the same as "question" in modern English. The use of doubt as a singular noun is suuuper antiquated sounding.

  3. this actually happened one night. my tutor was up grading his level 2s so I ended up helping him plan and carry out the briefing of our class the next day

  4. Same! Emailed a college professor at midnight and she responded right away. She always looked tired and was in charge of senior projects so I felt for her.

  5. I felt sorry for some of my teachers, spent hours searching for interest stuff to show on class only for a bunch of people in the back of the class to play cs 1.6 in the middle of the explanation ._.

  6. I emailed my professor at 4 am. They got back to me 17 minutes later and i finished the project. He has a 7 am class. He said he was happy that I was an early bird like him. I was awake for almost 36 hours at that point.

  7. Bro same, like I couldn’t sleep one night, decided to do homework, emailed him with a question over said homework, and this dude responded immediately, told me to face time him and he walked me through my fckn homework. Then we discussed lesson plans that he had for the next day lol

  8. I totally understand those people. Between midnight at 4AM was about the only time I did any work at all at Uni. I still do most of my work emails then. My brain just really wakes up in the middle of the night.

  9. You assume, because if you tried to check if everyone else was like this one of you wouldn’t be anymore.

  10. I once had an student abroad office coordinator telling an entire lecture hall full of students not to email her after 11 pm... yes, email

  11. There’s a rule in my country (among the university students) that we shouldn’t contact (email or text message) professor past 7 pm or even 5 pm

  12. Highschool student here. I actually messaged my maths teacher a few days ago at 2PM and he responded at 2AM the next day. I responded back within a minute and then we were having a conversation. He’s a legend.

  13. Does anyone else write emails at 2, save them in drafts, and then send them around 7 to pretend you're a responsible adult with a reasonable sleep schedule?

  14. Yeap this is right before searching through all related emails and documents frantically, haha. I realize that sending an email at this time would seem sketchy, used the delay feature that has become so handy. Instead of 7am though, I send it between 5-6 to make it look like am an early bird haha.

  15. Yes! Until I realised 7am mails get buried under shit already and never get a response but 2am mails remain on top when he wakes up at 4am and actually get a decent response.

  16. This is me at work lately around midnight, “Hey when you have the time....” and then a minute later I’m getting a response. Makes a lot more sense in the morning why those people are groggy now.

  17. I mailed my Prof at 4am some results after an all-nighter, thinking I can finally go to bed now.. And he replied within a minute because he was up at 4am to begin his day coding. All-nighter turned into an all-dayer. Sigh!

  18. I wish this were true. My professor was like "I am not a 24/7 office hour." Needless to say, people are struggling in that class.

  19. No shit I did this last night unknowingly what time it was. It was 3 AM and dead ass my teacher sent a message back at 3 AM.

  20. Student's email: 5 paragraph multifaceted inquiry on the proper way of doing something, takes 3 hours to write and a handful of proofreads

  21. Once I was at a friends house, and at 2am I received a notification. I saw it was a remind from my Spanish teacher sent out to the whole class telling us not to forget to complete an assignment by Monday. We asked her why she sent out the remind at 2 in the morning, and she told us it’s because her husband likes to hunt occasionally with friends for actual meat, and she was up late cutting and storing it.

  22. Hey - I’m correct it’s only because OP is new to Reddit. Give him a chance? He said he had emailed the entire thing and it's a completely different food.

  23. My advisor regularly does work in the middle of the night so he can spend daytime hours with his kids. It's a running joke in the lab to see who gets the latest email. So far, it's 2:30 in the morning.

  24. I had a professor once respond to my email at 4am. The next class I said “wow you go to bed as late as I do” and he replied “I don’t go to bed late I wake up early.” I don’t think he meant it as a flex but it was kind of a flex.

  25. Meanwhile I chatted my teacher for like 3 times earlier this afternoon to open our lessons because she forgot to open it the last time, It's half past midnight and I'm totally going to fail her test.

  26. Man this ain't true. Everybody knows that with this shit pandemic professors answer your email until next week or they ignore it and be like:

  27. I have a professor that is basically nocturnal. Only teaches late night classes or online. Wakes up at like 6pm, teaches night classes around 7-8:30, goes home and grades/plan for class, does any shopping in the early morning. Goes to bed at like 10-11am. He explained his schedule once because he got an email complaining about he only responds to emails at like 3am.

  28. I once emailed my prof at like 4:30 and they replied 5 minutes later I knew both of us wanted to die lmao

  29. Just wanted to say I get notifications on blackboard at all times of the night this semester. I only have 3 classes but it's crazy how late the profs always seem to be up

  30. One of my lecturers replies exclusively at 4am. He once asked me why I handed in a piece of work at 5am (was due next day midday) but surely he must understand given he's always awake then too.

  31. This happend one time when i was sending an e-mail to my math teacher at 1AM. She responded after 10 min.

  32. wtf what world do you live in this never happened to me. id email teachers at 7pm and have them respond to me at noon the next day telling me they were sleeping.

  33. I was both happy and sad one of my 60 years old professors answered a question instantly that I emailed him at 4:30 in the morning.

  35. My grad adviser once emailed me revisions on a grant application minutes before midnight on New Year's Eve. It was depressing and made me reconsider staying in academia.

  36. During online finals last semester, one of my profs emailed a clarification at 4:30 in the morning. Sir, if you're fixing a mistake in the test 10 hours after it was made public, I think you were lying when you said it was designed to be written in 3 hours.

  37. I wanted to swap classes on the first week of class because I was just in a wait list for another class but it's been 3 weeks and she hasn't replied. Good for you your professor replied right away.

  38. I don't think I've met a single professor at my university that actually gets a full night of sleep or has a good sleep schedule. Most of them either have coffee or a pile of energy drinks on their desk. One of my history professors would actually either cancel class or make us watch a movie when he was too tired.

  39. I had this one teacher- kinda a bit off( like he could still teach of course but he was a bit crazy lol) but a very hard working teacher. We were all wondering when he actually sleeps because he has sent us an email at 4 am before.
