Anyone here try ketamine treatment? What was your experience?

  1. Ketamine literally saved my life a few years ago. The last few years since have been the happiest of my life and I'm 50 years old. It absolutely crushed my depression and suicidal ideation.

  2. Thank you for sharing. This is what I hope happens with me. This is what I would like done, but I don’t see if happening. I’m not even allowed to use my mmj card I have for painful back condition with him because he still views marijuana as a dangerous drug. I just don’t see him jumping on board with the ketamine however, you reminded me that he does have access to my pharmacy records and reviews them every visit so he will know.

  3. I’m in the process now. Had 4 treatments. It’s helping. Most notably in my anxiety. The depression so far is a mixed bag. Some days are better than others still. My wife notices that I’m having more good days than bad ones… I highly recommend it.

  4. It's been a lifesaver for me. I was like the third patient my psych treated with it, and now she's opened a whole clinic focused around ketamine treatments. I use the troches (didn't like the nasal spray), which is probably way less expensive than the IV treatments some people get. During my treatments we also do a sort of guided meditation, and the dissociative effects have really helped look at some issues that are normally too sensitive for me to deal with. I hope it helps you too!

  5. I agree with the person who said it saved their life. It definitely saved mine. They’re very expensive, but with my treatment resistance it has been absolutely worth it. I have recently been experiencing some terrible life events and the ketamine has also prevented me from severely backsliding in my progress.

  6. If what you're doing isn't working, and you have data on something that can improve your condition, he should at least consider it. I would ask his opinion on it. could go a couple of ways.

  7. even if he's all the way against it, it's still important to stand your ground. if you're going to do it, you want to know the risks, drug interactions, other concerns. and you want him to be aware of when it's happening for purposes of inclusion in long term data about your case.

  8. I had 8 or 9 infusions in May/June. It was great! I didn’t know I could feel as good as I did. But by the last couple of infusions, it stopped working for me. They even gave me a compounded version to take at home in addition, but they didn’t work either (and tasted nasty!). Now I’m on Caplyta, which targets bipolar depression. It’s working well, and I hope it continues to work.
