Almost relapsed on drugs today, pray for me

  1. That's alright, great job resisting temptation! It can be so hard especially when it comes to addiction. It sounds like you have the right heart, don't give in, pray and keep yourself accountable.

  2. Luke 4:1-2 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil.

  3. Lord, Hold sketchburger in the palm of your hand. Give them your strength, your love, and your grace. Help them to turn to you always. Help them to remember 2 Corinthians 10:5– capture every thought and make it obedient to Christ and 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. Remind them that you, oh Lord, will see them through. In Christ’s name, Amen

  4. 4 months isn't very long in your place, I can attest. Hold fast my friend. You are right where it's hardest mentally. It will get easier every day, but, if you can, try to stay away from those situations for the next few months. You've got this, and God's got you. I'm praying for you now. Love you.

  5. I’m so glad you didn’t pick up!! 🎊 Do you have any meetings near you. They can occur multiple times a day and you can try to attend every single one whenever possible. Also church services, getting involved, etc. staying busy and outside yourself. There are even online meetings. Idk if you have a sponsor but that’s a great thing to do too. Even online groups, etc. there’s also something called celebrate recovery which is a Christian-based recovery as well. There’s also NA as I’m sure you know.

  6. My body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. I struggle with this as well with alcohol and used to be sex. It’s definitely a struggle at times. I want to make a home in my person for the Holy of Holies to abide. Jesus make me clean, cleanse my sins, lift the sinful desire, the desire that I know leads to my destruction at best and worse the loss of potential communion with You. Amen

  7. I'm going to spend some time praying for you right now. For strength, but most of all for freedom from shame. Shame keeps us in addictive cycles. The basis of shame is the feeling that we are defective and unworthy deep in the core. The whole world is a performance based meritocracy and we all tend to wear a mask to navigate. You have realized that this doesn't work with God. That's is huge! I contend that we are damaged by living apart from God. Our spirits are shriveled. So while it's sort of true that we are defective and unworthy, Jesus does something different with this reality. His play is grace--completely unmerited favor because of His goodness, strength, and righteousness. We don't become stronger, we die and become more dependent on a true source. Truly blessed are the poor in Spirit!, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven! His power is made perfect in weakness. Delight in your weakness and that it leads you into God's grace. Your temptation doesn't mean you don't love Him and it will never mean He loves you less.

  8. Prayer and fasting helps alot. Pray to YAHUSHA (name of JESUS) for help and try a soft-fast for lile 8hrs and see how your body reacts. Do recommend check a profesional to see what your body can handle.

  9. Thank you. I pray a lot but am very interested in fasting too. Never have been able to make it past lunch due to bad self control and a big appetite! Going to read some books on it and try to work towards incorporating it into my walk with God.

  10. How do you even get an opportunity? I've lived 40 years and have never had an opportunity to buy drugs. If you know you have a weakness it is wise to do what you can to cut off any opportunity to be tempted. That includes cutting off ties with anyone involved with drugs, even former "friends". Someone who wants you to do drugs is not a friend. Also if the cravings come, start talking to Daddy about it openly and honestly, and he will help you.

  11. Basically when my supply of pain pills was cut off, I replaced it with a legal and weaker substance called kratom. I was using that multiple times a day for years, you can order it online or buy it in some stores. Its a plant that like methadone and suboxone helps some people get off the harder stuff or manage pain without seeing a doctor. Its also addictive and you can easily become a slave to it. So long story shortened, I finally quit taking that stuff back in December with the grace of the Holy Spirit. Yesterday, I kept seeing signs for it being sold in gas stations, hence the “opportunity”.

  12. You realize this was God. His grace. Mercy. Power. When you would have fallen, he didn't give you the chance. That's amazing!

  13. Thank you for the support It’s good to hear from another sibling in Christ who understands the demon of addiction. God bless you!

  14. Lord Jesus please help them to get back off of this and know how much You love them. Thank you Jesus in Jesus name we pray Amen.

  15. Thank you to everyone who is replying here. I did not expect so much love from a community of strangers. I feel your prayers strengthening me. My brothers and sisters in Christ. God bless you all

  16. Thank you. The prayers of you guys truly made the difference. The truth is if I relapse, I have nothing but guilt. If I stay the path, I get closer to God and also can help others. Saw a really down and out homeless woman on the street last week, surely an addict. A man yelled at her for loitering at his business (an auto repair place), she was probably up to no good burn in that moment I felt this really intense stirring of love for her. I realized that’s what God felt for me the entire time I was messing up my life. Shortly after I regretted not saying something kind to her, I was waiting for my car and just kind of sat there observing the scene. But maybe God’s plans for me is to serve others who are batting similar demons. Maybe that’s why I was put to the test? Not sure. Anyway thanks for the kind words and encouragement. God bless you.
