Ford reveals 'major economic announcement' with Northeast Ohio to make all-new electric vehicle in $1.5 billion investment

  1. My thoughts exactly. For as many things as we could do better, we are definitely attracting big investments and jobs here and it's great to see.

  2. I’m glad this is happening but based on how Republicans in Columbus have acted in the last 20 years or so I can’t help but wonder what went on behind the scenes. Who’s palm was greased? How many envelopes of cash were exchanged? Which political leader(s) received a multimillion dollar slush fund? Same goes for the Intel deal. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for Ohio, but at the same time it’s clear that this is a pay to play state.

  3. My father is head of the electricians and project manager for building the Intel plant. They are bringing it to Columbus for the main reason that Columbus is one of the fastest growing cities in the country, with thousands of college graduates with engineering degrees and it has a very educated population. Ohio also has great space as well as great position in relation to surrounding states for import/export across NA and beyond

  4. Not even just that lmao a lot of these are coming here because Ohio is offering them huge tax breaks lol. Like with Intel they've already sealed the deal and they're still adding more on top, all the way down to promising favorable infrastructure improvements around the plant and in some cases doing direct payments.

  5. It sucks to pay in a lump sum, but I end up coming out ahead in oil changes alone. Would be nice to pay in increments though...
