How do I add more volume to my rice to make it more filling and take up more surface area of my plate ?

  1. FINELY diced broccoli/cauliflower/carrot/asparagus/celery will do, basically any hard/fibery vegetables, just remember to season it properly. You can also add tomatoes to let the rice soak up the juice

  2. Get wheat/barley/spelt instead of rice and sprout them nice and long, grain sprouts have like 1/5th the calories of cooked grain

  3. I typically just add egg whites to my rice and if I have mushrooms I'll do like a fake fried rice. Sautéed veggies are also great like diced onions, peppers, broccolini, zucchini etc.

  4. I put coriander, butter and salt in mine. Maybe make some fried rice? Throw an egg in a pan of rice and now you got more protein to your meal. Lettuce always helps as filler too.

  5. When I was on the chubbier side and never tracked calories, I’d probably eat rice 2 or 3 times a day, sometimes multiple servings a time. Tasteless, not much nutrition but growing up in an Asian household, it was part of every meal. I still eat rice, maybe a handful of times a month at most. Now I just replace it with veggies, bread/ tortillas, and once in awhile beans. I’ve tried cauliflower rice but it’s pretty tasteless and mushy too, I’ve tried both frozen and microwaveable pouches from Costco. Wanted to try the Costco cauliflower stir fry fried rice but it hasn’t been available online in awhile
