Are you excited for Willow?

  1. Maybe it's just because I'm a nerd of a particular age (born in the early 80s, so too late for Star Wars and too early for the explosion of superhero movie stuff and Star Wars coming back) but man I watched that movie 1000 times when I was a kid, never thought I'd see any kind of continuation of the story, and am STOKED for the show.

  2. Willow was my first fantasy movie and the reason I love Lord of the Rings so much. When the theme played on the trailer for the series, I got chill bumps. Can’t wait to see it tomorrow!

  3. Saw a rumor somewhere that he'd make an appearance, but yeah won't be the same as if Madmartigan had been a main character. If it is even true.

  4. You need to see this movies as a kid, they create core memories, for me was Willow, Krull, Conan, and El Santo movies (im from mexico)

  5. I watched the movie for the first time a few years ago and it’s safe to say I’ve never hated any movie more than I hated Willow. The seemingly constant ads for the series are driving me mad!

  6. Willow (the movie) had some fun ideas, but it never really came together. I think this stands a better chance of succeeding as opposed to the Star Wars shows that are trying to live up to such iconic films. I'll definitely watch.

  7. From someone who hasn’t seen it in 30 years, I feel like this is a fantasy equivalent of Stripes. The first part is strong and so memorable…and then…other stuff happens?

  8. I'd say I'm looking forward to it! I do love Star Wars, but it's nice to see Lucasfilm expand more into it's other properties like Willow and the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie.

  9. yeah but we have a Star Wars Film for 6 years now yeah its great but i do hope Star War Films return to Silver Screen its pretty bad I associate TROS as the Last SW movie before the Pandemic i hate for Star Wars Movies to remembered that way

  10. The movie was pretty straight forward, but fun. The series seems to add a lot more depth which I am all for.

  11. Rewatched the original yesterday to prepare. A mostly good film but the “Brownies” characters absolutely took all of the wind out of every scene they showed up in (and they were in it a LOT). Hopefully they have much less screen time in the series. Also the ending seemed a bit lackluster, the villain felt like she needed a bit more dimension. But I’m excited to see where this series goes. There’s a lot of potential to build on a cool little fantasy world.

  12. I tried watching the movie a couple years ago (after D+ launched and the series had been announced). I found it to not be to my taste so I’ll probably be skipping this one.

  13. Never head of it and the trailer for this show didn’t look particularly good. If it gets rave reviews I will check it out.

  14. I watched the first Willow in the theater. Everyone had high hopes, and there was a ton of media hype, but audiences and reviewers were nonplussed. I have no interest in returning to that universe. If reviews are fantastic, then I'll give Willow a second chance.

  15. Yeah... I'm just sad Mad Mardigan won't be in it. I hope they add some lore like he had a son or something. Brad Mardigan? No that's no good... either way... give him a son!

  16. yes Happy the movie was great also Happy Erin Kellyman is back for her second disney plus outing been enjoying her stuff since Solo
