What’s your go to sad song?

  1. I came here to say Skinny Love by Bon Iver. Your was the top comment. Have you heard his cover of “I Cant Make You Love Me”? It is Chefs Kiss to keep crying to.

  2. saw them live one year. It' started to drizzle as skinny love started to play and right when the final verse started it turned into a down pour.... goosebumps man... goosebumbs... everyone was looking at one another trying to see if other people took in how crazy that moment was. It was pretty much a 2000+ person pinch me moment.

  3. Pink Floyd is just amazing, they really wrote songs that you can connect to and associate with on a level few people get to experience. Love them.

  4. Death Cab For Cutie ~ I will follow you into the dark, Gorillaz ~ On Melancholy Hill (live version), Mike Posner ~ Move on, just to name a few.

  5. Right Down the Line by Gerry Rafferty. I don’t know what it is about that song but EVERYTIME I listen to it it makes me tear up - doesn’t matter what mindset I’m in or how I feel.

  6. The Weight, by Amber Run. Anything by Amber Run really gets me sad and teary eyed. But in the best and most releasing kind of way.

  7. It might be a bit weird but I'll say the surf theme from pokemon ruby/sapphire/emerald or from pokemon Omega ruby/alpha Sapphire. I don't really know what is with the melody but everytime I listen to it, I just tear up.

  8. You Weren't Meant To See That- The Rare Occasions They are criminally underrated with their only big hit bring Notion, which is another really good song

  9. It's an hindi song.. Nain parindey pagle do nain. It's video always bring tears to eyes. A blind girl who have just learnt that she was backstab by her love interest. And suddenly she realises that she don't trust anyone. This world is an horrible place.. no place of emotions.. she went back to her mom and the in cracked voice, she called her aai ( mother ).

  10. Any song from the Album lemon boy by Cavetown they're all tragic in their own little sad way and just get you into the mood very well and they just sound great

  11. Cats in the Cradle. I don’t “go to” it but I do become melancholy every time I hear it, because it’s alway a poignant reminder that my beautiful little children will quickly be grown and moving on to lives of their own, and this magical time I’m living in will be gone forever...

  12. Wasted Time by The Eagles. She Used To Be Mine by Sara Bareilles. Sorry by Elton John. You Have Been Loved by George Michael. Lost without you by Freya Riding. So many.

  13. I don't think this is a sad song per se, but "The Heart of Life" by John Mayer is my go to song whenever I'm feeling down (spoiler alert: all the time), it's my favourite song of all time and i love introducing it to people :)

  14. If you really want to crank things down a notch search for any of your fave sad/depressing songs slowed + reverb. I found by amber run is really good

  15. I'm gonna come back around and listen to what other people listed and see if I'll add any, but here's my playlist of overwhelmingly sad songs
