Now that we know that the vaccines don't do jack shit in terms of stopping the spread and are almost exclusively just to protect the person who gets the vaccine, I agree that firing people over vaccination status is ridiculous. Especially when there is such a massive worker shortage in places like healthcare.

It's less "now that we know" and more "now that the virus has mutated such that..." If we were still dealing with the original strain we might need boosters but we'd be sitting pretty with a 95% effectiveness against infection and nearly 100% against death.

This is already going to appeal. Given previous cases, this decision will probably be overturned.

Hopefully. Otherwise it's a really bad precedent that we'll be hamstrung by when the next pandemic hits.

Judges shouldn't be allowed to play politics.

This is akin to saying lawsuits shouldn't be allowed to have political implications.

Boo. Hopefully, new laws can be put in place to protect the public during a future pandemic.
