Things to help with pain?

  1. I've had progressive chronic pain for a degenerative condition for several years. Before my pain became more severe, I found alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen to work best. They work differently and aren't so hard on the liver and kidneys if alternated. Aside from that, I made good use of my heating pad and minimized movement as much as possible. (I also have about 12 OTC pain products. None of them worked for me.)

  2. Lidocaine has kept me out of a nursing home the last few years. I started ordering the bulk powder and mixing my own sprays and creams. It may not last a long time but when you are at the breaking point the numbing effect can bring you back from the edge.
