The last time I was in the hospital it had a menu. Different dishes each day of the week with 3-4 things to choose from. Not great food, but pretty edible. I don't remember what it was now, but I was almost disappointed to go home Saturday night because Sunday's food sounded pretty good.
The one I've spent the last month in has a menu each day, a few things each day out of a weekly selection. Things like Cajun chicken, various curries, stews, chilli con carne, bratwurst, fish & chips, brie & beetroot tart, salads with jalepeneos, roast dinners and spag bol.

Chicken soup for sure. Really good for the gut and immune system. 70-80% of your immune system is in your gut.
