  1. Technically speaking you're doing it correctly for IFR. Using power for Alt. The 'Rules' between the IFR and VFR are different.

  2. Which I firmly disagree with and will maintain is dumb.

  3. The caveat is the pay is $35,000/yr. No idea on a contract but wouldn’t be surprised.

  4. Thank you for the honest response but it sounds like you are effectively saying “not my problem.” I don’t think Diddys pilots would have an issue even if they are aware of what’s going on and how could they not be realistically.

  5. Banging the mistress isn’t a crime at least not in the bulk of the world I would think. Yes I would file that under “not my business.” What would be an example of a flight you would refuse? Would you ever take a passenger who clearly did not want to be onboard?

  6. You're just fishing for a story now and I'm going to stop responding.

  7. NetJets has always been weirdly picky so while your odds weren’t great given your experience, don’t beat yourself up too much over it. All it takes is someone getting a bad vibe somewhere along the line or wanting to be “wow’d” by an applicant and that’s that.

  8. I just wanted to see everyone’s opinions on this

  9. https://www.reddit.com/r/flying/wiki/index#wiki_becoming_a_professional_pilot

  10. I didn’t deny it being in the FAQ, I’m just saying I wanted to hear everyone’s opinions and thought on this topic. Especially the higher experienced and higher educated pilots

  11. Literally nothing out of the ordinary about that.

  12. “Cooperate to graduate”

  13. Not reading all that. The answer to your post title question is yes.

  14. Middle of the road hotels. Places that have a free breakfast type. Think Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Four Points, Best Western.

  15. The OP said "severe overweight condition" and mentioned breaking apart midair, I guess I just expected the weight to be a more significant factor.

  16. Right, and 10% is not a “severe overweight condition.” That’s pretty much unintentional margin of error.

  17. I wouldn't go that far -- I haven't ever accidentally overloaded the plane by an entire (small) person, but 20-40 pounds seems like it could very well be the result of an accidently miscalc or mis-weigh.

  18. I mean, I would. One of my planes was 107 pounds heavier than the previous W&B said it was.

  19. Glider is a category of aircraft. So when you train and eventually complete the practical test for certification, you'll be issued a Private Pilot, Glider certificate.

  20. The one closest to where you live that you can drive to and can afford. The vast majority of flight schools are fine.

  21. I’ve also called every company I can think of I’m at 265 TT the ones that respond tell me to reapply at 600-1000 and others don’t reply at all

  22. Really? How many flight schools have you applied at?

  23. Tell your instructor and have him put a piece of paper over the panel.

  24. My bad. I should have provided more context. I was looking for information about companies as a second career 135 guy with a decent amount of 91 hours however the owner of company passed away and kids then sold the plane. Was looking at 135 opportunities. Found these guys looked like a decent job with nice equipment. Found just lots of pilots with the same story on APC and Reddit. Wanted to share my findings.

  25. Literally everybody here will tell you not to go to Speedtape Airlines, no idea wtf you're talking about.

  26. Matt's a great guy. Super genuine dude, only real "complaint" would be that he's very thorough. You'll probably pass, but you're going to have to earn it.

  27. There's no possible way any of us could know anything at this stage. Let the investigators do their job.

  28. I’ve heard 65-70 hours average for PPL, and most people get the rest at close to the minimum required

  29. National average was 75 hours last I looked but it has been a couple years.

  30. 4-5 hours on a private oral is ridiculous.

  31. I definitely agree, though I’ve certainly seen DPEs drag an oral out that long with marginal candidates trying to give them enough leeway to pass. Generally the morons and the sky gods are short ones, but it’s the marginal types that wind up with longer checkrides.
