I’m sure you won’t believe me, but my router modem is about 4 feet from my Xbox (which I know shouldn’t matter) and my speed increases vastly on WiFi connection. When I plug in I lose about 150Mbps. (Total across up and down) so I keep it on WiFi always. My consoles ping usually runs below 120 above 50 and I constantly have a connection symbol in the top right
Could be due to the Ethernet cable. Cat 5E can only handle around 100 if I remember correctly. If that’s the cable you have maybe get a cat 6
But why spend the extra money? I’m not lagging, my ping is excellent for a console and the connection symbol has been constant for a majority of console players. After having it for the first 3 seasons it doesn’t even mean anything
It’s your choice whether to or not, just offering an opinion on why your wired connection is slower than wifi
