  1. Yes. Which leads back to my statement that no-one would create the UK if it didn't exist.

  2. Pointing out that Scotland would need the consent of the other nations to rejoin the UK does not equate to “no-one would create the UK if it didn’t exist.”

  3. There’s something to be said for seeing a film in a cinema or a show in theatre.

  4. "Who needs live discussion when we have youtube" is about the bleakest sentiment I've heard on here today

  5. The shareholders whose greed is directly responsible for the mess Thames is in.

  6. Why are green parties in general anti-nuclear? Does it stem from alliances they made with CND and so on back when they didn't really have a chance of gaining power?

  7. Nuclear energy is not green or renewable. It uses a finite fuel which has to be mined from the earth. The dangers of nuclear waste are sometimes overstated, but it's also true that we don't have a single operational long term solution for high level waste.

  8. It was never meant to be funny but the sad thing is, someone at some point in time will be having a convo like this and will get a criminal record for it under these new rules. I am defending your right to call me a twat haha.

  9. The new bill does not threaten my right to call you a twat, because that's not a protected characteristic

  10. Yes very clever, I'm surprised you used that line as I think I've seen maybe 4 or 5 like it in here just like it and considering you had a go at me for using the "am I getting hate crime'd" line for a second time.

  11. You're right, it wasn't very funny. Haven't read the thread, but I should have known it was a bit low hanging fruit. I'll try to be more original in future.

  12. Comparatively. But it's still a brave gay couple who walk down the street holding hands.

  13. Didn’t the (Westminster) government just change the law on extremist organisations? Does that only cover England and Wales, or is it reserved and cover Scotland too? Because these people’s actions are a deliberate attack on the people, not a protest against the law or the government, but I repeat, a direct attack on the people.

  14. No no no, by "extremists" they meant Muslims, people who protest environmental destruction and anyone who interferes with the colour of the St George's flag

  15. There's a whole row of missed abortion opportunities right there

  16. All products are now required to carry a picture of the milky way galaxy

  17. There is no minimum speed limit, but there is an obligation to not obstruct the highway, which many cyclists happily overlook.

  18. It's getting better, I'd say. You see more and more non-MAMILs out cycling. The motorway cutting through town does make it significantly more painful though. It's also pretty hilly in centre of town.

  19. IMO The only flag with a seal that improves it is the GDR's, mainly because that seal was a lot simpler than this one you have to squint to see

  20. When I was in 10th grade (mid 90s), most of my friend group said they were bisexual, most likely because the most popular girl in our group was actually bisexual. It was pretty much forgotten about after six months. Ed Bernays was definitely on to something.

  21. I am begging people to learn the difference between an anecdote that happened to them and the prevalence of social trends and issues across a population

  22. “Another anonymous crank, who is definitely not me with another login, has backed up everything I say”

  23. I’m not the one claiming there’s a concerted unionist effort to counter nationalists on a subreddit. Touch grass friend

  24. I mean, you just accused me of a concerted effort to counter unionists on a subreddit with my sockpuppet account.

  25. If nutjobs would leave her alone, there would be no need for any statement.

  26. nutjobs aren't going to leave her alone while she's in the royal family though, it's nutjob catnip

  27. I'm aware of confidence intervals, I just left them out to simplify the maths. I'm assuming good confidence intervals. My point was that 852 people is a respectable number for a sample size. And it stands.

  28. How can you be void of the basic principle of gratitude. I cannot comprehend how one can receive charity without gratitude. Gratitude is free. By definition welfare cannot be a hate policy. No welfare is a hate policy. Someone can be given lump sums monthly and even a brand new car, and say yeh this is my due entitlement and deserve nothing but my contempt. Did your parents not teach you even the most basic forms of respect.

  29. 8 month old profile with two generic words and a number, creates a low-hanging fruit thread for SNP bashing
