In order to make Toptoon(KR) account you have to choose between two methods: sign up using your phone or an email. Email account is straight forward as you only need a dedicated email (whether google or else). Now, if you want to sign up using your phone, you may need an extra verification, which could be a hassle if you live outside Korea.
The like button is there for readers' reference while the view count and paying are there to support the authors. The most direct way of supporting is to pay for the series, but viewing(reading) also helps to notch up the series' rank, so it's really up to you as a reader.
Okay, and does just clicking the episode and viewing(reading) it for a quick second count as a "read" to notch it up or does the length of time viewing(reading) it matter as well? I ask because there is some series I really like that I would love if they keep on going (as long as the author can). I liked "NSFW" and the fact that it ended quickly was quite a bummer. I bought the chapters but didn't read any episodes because of school, work and I other hobbies. So If clicks and or time viewing(reading) an episode counts, then I will keep that in mind and try to read more often to try to help boost ratings for series I enjoy.

Also, I wouldn't say that the underlying reason why some series gets dropped early or go on a long hiatus is due to their rank or views (though, it certainly is one of the crucial key indicators).
