  1. I am 55M and right of center politically and I find that this sub and

  2. I'm 70 and I'm in the more liberal/progressive camp and I'm no way lax or attempting to encourage excuses for breaking commandments. Not trying to be combative here but didn't like the inferred associations. I have a stake calling at the moment.

  3. Was dating someone like that many many years ago. We've now been married for almost 43 years. What was it like? I honestly wondered how I pulled it off. I see myself as just average. I still wonder to this day. Most importantly, she's a good person.

  4. My boomer parents go to Sam’s Club, out to lunch at Golden Corral where they complain about everything, then watch tv until they go to bed. They complain about anyone who doesn’t look, talk, & think like them, the prices of things they don’t buy, and how no one wants to work anymore.

  5. Had a tree fall Saturday with all of the high winds in Chesterfield. Just had a guy over to give me a price to take it away and thin out the woods behind our house. Now I've got to mark the trees I want gone. Might be 30-40.

  6. Yeah, I live in a suburb of nearly 400,000 people outside Richmond VA. There's nothing small town about it. I like living in RVA Metro but am well aware that I live in suburbia and all that comes with it, pro and con.

  7. Trades are where the real job security is at too! And imagine how many middle school/HS students might feel more encouraged rather than pushed down the college pipeline and forced to take on hundreds of thousands of $$ in debt when they are 18 and have no freaking clue what they wanna do.

  8. Even if a trade job isn't the long term plan, it can get one started without all the debt. Take night classes once you can afford to pay out of regular earnings.

  9. VERY little rain in Chesterfield in Harpers Mill. We have a bright blue car. The yellow is threatening to turn the car green.

  10. I'm going with Lomas Brown. He certainly had a good working relationship with Barry Sanders at Detroit.

  11. I saw Particle there 20 years ago and the bass was so strong I went blind for five minutes and my friends had to lead me out so I could sit and recover. Weird experience. Only time I've ever had something like that happen. Your mileage may vary.

  12. Well, the tickets are cheap enough that if I start to lose my mind, we'll just leave.

  13. Before you get too upset about this, just know that my BP sometimes goes really high in a doctor's office and then is normal at home a couple of hours later. I have had my monitor checked against other monitors so I know it's good. I'm only 160 lbs and 5'9". Yes, you should lose weight and you are right to be concerned. Just take a deep breath. Actually deep breathing can help with BP. Best wishes.

  14. This isn't exactly that new. It might be new to Denver but it's not new. Cops not going to certain neighborhoods was a thing for a long time in cities like NYC and LA. Denver's just growing up into a 'real' big city and joining the ranks.

  15. Depends on your route. If you take VA route 5, Cul's Courthouse Grille is good. If you go down to US 460, Prince George Family BBQ near the intersection with I295 is a good option.

  16. All the 74 exits suck, if you know they're coming up then the key is to plan ahead. Drive slower to match the speed of people entering the highway and create space in front of you that people can use to merge onto the highway, use your blinker, and if you really can't make it then don't force it - it's a lot faster to go an exit or two down than to deal with an accident. 74C (which also sucks tbf) will get you to Canal and 10th for a total cost of $0.25 and you'll get where you're going at basically the same time.

  17. Yes, if you can't do it safely, just go to the next exit. I'm sympathetic to the OP but don't force fit yourself in.

  18. The angry side of me wishes all of them (including the dad) could just be put in one cell and given enough food for one person daily. That's not the way we do things in the country but things like this really get to me.

  19. Guess I'm old school but our finances are completely merged. No separate accounts. It's been working for almost 43 years and we see no cause to change anything. Everything is half hers, half mine. Who earned the money is immaterial in our relationship. I doubt I can contribute anything else to this discussion. Good luck and best wishes to OP.

  20. My mom's was born in Florida, back then it was all still all part of the deep south. I also lived there as a young child. I was to young to remember much. Later we would visit our relatives there. It was a whole different world for us kids. Good memories, but now it's dead to me. I really hate what it's become. I have no desire to ever go there again.

  21. 59-77 for my school years. Graduated from UF in 1977 and moved a few days later to VA. Now 70 and living in VA and have ZERO intention of moving back to FL. Must say it was different when I lived there. Graduated from the same high school as Gov Desantis. Don't hate me.

  22. Ohio State made a 3 at the buzzer of the 2007 championship to cut UF's lead from 12 to 9. It was the only one of the 4 Final Four games those guys played that they didn’t win by double digits.

  23. Yeah, that was a dominant team and I enjoyed it but the current UConn team blows my mind. I heard between last year's and this year's tournament games (10 total), UConn is beating the SPREAD by 15 ppg. That's just insane. Can anyone confirm?

  24. Well, thanks for the shoutout but since we last won basketball or football, our best programs have been track and field, women's gymnastics, women's tennis, baseball, softball.

  25. They are NOT good people, are NOT your friends, and you should move on to others who respect you. I wouldn't spend another minute with these immature, bad excuses for women. Go on a cruise with your husband - a different one.
