thepigeonparadox

  1. It's not just wages and "inflation" (surprise, they keep revealing it's mostly been corporate greed).

  2. Honest question: if 401ks are a lie, then what should we be doing instead or also? I'm almost 40, so unfortunately it's late to start anything but hopefully not totally hopeless.

  3. Supporting private property over the lives of other people? Maybe sort out your priorities.

  4. How does destroying each other's means of livelihood (cars, small businesses, etc.) hurt the rich/powerful? Now, if you're talking about going after the actual perpetrators of this corrupt system property, that's one thing, because they can afford to buy more. But general destruction of our neighbors' property and communities? That's more detrimental than beneficial. If we want support of the people, don't destroy what matters to them, that just makes them turn on the protesters who are legitimate.

  5. It's absolutely insane to me that people drink soda to quench thirst. How do you get to adulthood without learning sugar makes you thirsty?

  6. If no one teaches you in childhood, then you have to figure it out in adulthood. And once you do, it's already a habit that won't be easy to break.

  7. Highly, highly, recommend reading Salvation is from the Jews by Roy H. Schoeman.

  8. Thanks! The issue I had found was they'd be too big to fit in the earring, and I didn't want to make it too much longer or heavier (mine isn't really heavy). But! If ever I find one that's smaller, then definitely!! XD Good luck to you, hope it works out!

  9. Technically it's a prototype cuz I was too impatient and it's more of an inspired piece than actual. I could probably make a better version, but now this one is growing on me lol.

  10. ICA, InterNACHI, AHIT, ASHI, Carson Dunlop are all good resources. Check out

  11. Thank you for your insight! We've been given a lot to think about. And as the meeting ended up not happening, we've time to reevaluate. One of the things is, and I don't mean to sound petulant, this location is really good for us. But it may be that we'll not have a choice and we'll have to move either far enough away that my spouse changes jobs, or out of state. We've been looking for two years, now going on three. There's no plots of land nearby that we could see about just building one from scratch (and I highly doubt that's cheaper than 400k).

  12. Ah, this is good to know. Thank you! Much appreciated for all your help!

  13. Ok, but I don't think that's the time or place for that. How would you like it if general contractors showed up looking for work during one of your inspections?

  14. How would you prefer HIs to approach you? An office visit? And what materials would it pique your interest to receive?

  15. I would prefer he not approach me at all. No offence, but I'm not the one hiring him, its the Buyer. And I understand some Agents have their preferred inspectors, but Agents tend to collect "rubber stamp" inspectors that won't kill deals. I don't recommend inspectors, lenders, or any other hires. I used to until I got burned a couple of times and stopped doing it. Sorry I couldn't be more help, just being honest. Most Agents are different. In your line of work, like mine, getting your network off the ground is the hard part. Good luck

  16. My little chick Miso was like this when she was around 2-3 days old. Constantly had one eye shut, and would sleep A LOT. Often times falling asleep standing up while everyone else was peeping about. I held her and forced her to drink electrolyte water (dipping her beak in a little cup), and gave her some small pieces of scrambled eggs while I held her. I did this a few times a day. She perked up within a day or two and is still very healthy. Sometimes certain chicks dont handle stress as well and need a little comfort. You can get small electrolyte packets at a farm store for a few bucks.

  17. Hi again! Just wanted to check back in and thank you profusely!! I got the electrolyte packet, and while she refuses to eat the scrambled egg, she's doing a whole lot better than before!! She's up and moving around more and is more active. Thank you so much for your help and advice!!!

  18. I personally don't wait, as soon as they are interested I give mine live mealworms, dubia roaches, and crickets I raise myself. However if you're giving them wild caught bugs it can be a good idea until they're old enough to de-worm (2 weeks) as the wild bugs can carry parasites. As you pointed out, momma hen wouldn't wait but momma hen also doesn't know about internal parasites being a risk, so it's up to you if you want to risk it or not! Be warned, once you give them live bugs it'll be hard to convince them any other treat is worth eating.

  19. What about dead mealworms? I mean, the ones that come in prepackaged bags?

  20. I'd say a mixed media journal, something like this: Strathmore 460-19 500 Series Visual Mixed Media Journal .

  21. Yeah it just always annoys me when people say that cuz we did and do do things like that, they just get put down and then the media is like "do we need more cops?"

  22. We need a leader the likes of MLK. Until then, we're too fractured, not just in ideals but also methodology.

  23. Agreed, it's a Mandarin. Thin white eye stripe around the eye (as the other poster mentioned) that extends thinly out (not as tear-shaped like the Wood Duck) and more white on the chin than Wood Duck. Beautiful bird!

  24. hell, look at Burt's Bees and their bees wax products. I listened to a 1 hour podcast about them and they started off with a random old country guy selling honey out of the bed of his truck and a lady asked if she can help. she eventually started using the wax for candles. it slowly took off and then the chapstick and so on. it's networth is now $1 billion in under 40 years.

  25. I'd think by now the bath bomb market is saturated...wouldn't it be? And so probably not worth trying to get into at this point?

  26. One time I had one drop down off my visor onto my lap while I was driving on a one way street downtown. I almost wrecked into a parked car.

  27. At a glance: Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas.

  28. The sad thing is that such a paradigm is literally enforced by law; if any executive/board team tried to rearrange things for longer term profits... they'd be subject to a lawsuit referencing

  29. Is there a potential, yes. But there is also a potential of it all being grounded.

  30. you would probably have better luck asking an electrical engineer on this one.

  31. I'm from the US and haven't heard of this guy before recently. Hearing his stuff though... If he showed up here in the US preaching like that from a soapbox in the streets, he'd have an army of followers in no time at all.

  32. I've often felt that it would take a leader the likes of MLK or something to rally the US. There just needs to be someone who takes on the role, with people with him/her who help make that vision come to fruition. I think so much needs to be torn down before it can be rebuilt. But that requires much to be lost before much is gained. I think a good leader would show how it's worth it. But without that large-scale leadership and high level organization, we can't do much but keep grumbling.

  33. This shtick drives me nuts. I lived in Massachusetts for 10 years and I currently live in Connecticut. I've also lived on the west coast and in the south, and have been to every state but Hawaii. Trust me when I say this, Connecticut does not suck. We're just stuck between two of the most influential cities in the country, which makes us look boring by comparison.

  34. Favorite place to live was Lacy, Washington. My younger brother loved it so much when he visited that he moved there with his fiancé years after I left. Like me, they only lasted two years. Unless you have family there, it’s very hard to stay connected.
