  1. Please don't mislead. There is no gospel of Q - it's a hypothetical document but you make it sound like it actually exists to earn a few brownie points and make some money.

  2. Yeah the way that some people (like Spong, one of the reasons I was never fond of him although not the only one) act like texts like these are equivalent to the actual Gospels is pretty weird and frankly kind of anti-intellectual. It'd be like thousands of years from now some futuristic historian acting like

  3. I wouldn't listen to a band that said something like either. Luckily I don't like BMTH to begin with so it's moot just as I don't have to feel conflicted about black metal because I don't like the sound. She seems quite unpleasant from some of her other tweets to out it quite mildly though.

  4. Because I'm Christian. Unlike the girl in the video however I am progressive.

  5. Chicago is probably your overall best bet because it's centrally located in the country but also a huge city and thus always gets tour dates and fests and what not.

  6. I always wear jeans and a T-shirt everywhere and the only comments I've ever had were people complimenting me on my band shirt. Definitely an odd thing and not common, unless culture is way different in the UK on this.

  7. Actually South America is fairly LGBT-friendly today. Same-sex marriage is legal in a majority of it, in Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile.

  8. well they don't sound like anything now as no longer being together, but mewithoutYou was totally different at their end than at the beginning.

  9. They're from a long time ago of course but Love Like...Electrocution was the first Australian screamo band I know of.

  10. yeah, it's overwhelmingly majority shitposts, absurd gatekeeping and dumping on other subs. A real shame.

  11. Listening to this song on my commute this morning is actually what made me think to write this post!

  12. No. Superchunk more or less are, though. Superheist aren't emo at all. Ditto Supertramp.

  13. Superchunk are definitely NOT emo. Influential on later emo, yes. But when they started emo still just meant "emotional hardcore from DC."

  14. Circle of Dead Children isn't a bad name if you know the story. I'm not even into the world music on this sub but got recommended this thread by an algorithm but I'm familiar with CoDC from hardcore scene crossover back in the day. An interview with one of them said that his thought of the name was seeing all the flags if the UN in a circle around the building...and then imagined below each flag was buried a dead child who died because of that country's policies and actions, and there was definitely more than one for every country.

  15. I wrote all this in a comment thread but, on balance, I think it is important and I believe it, so I am putting it here.

  16. Oh wow!! That’s honestly super useful, it’s sad to see the church I just started attending to doesn’t show up on that map though :(( maybe they just haven’t registered it? Everyone there seems so welcoming and nice.
