  1. Yeah, dialogue was pretty low, and I was in an imax theater. I'm not gonna hear shit at home

  2. We saw it at an AMC with whatever they call their best audio system, and dialogue was so low. Volume in general really. I bet if I went back to the budget theatre it would be fine.

  3. I’ve done work for some churches and one Christian charity. All web.

  4. Lot of mistakes by the backline leading to open shots

  5. Yeah. A lot of defensive issues at FB that people don’t see or like to ignore too.

  6. You make choices... play a style with VERY high up the pitch outside backs who offer far more offensively... or play defenders who give you minimal going forward... Our fans resoundingly asked for high action attacking soccer.

  7. I get wingback play. Regardless we’ve had some major flubs by FBs in position, with a man to mark.

  8. She didn’t say anything that is statistically wrong though. By increasing the spread of social welfare policies, people are much more likely to become reliant on those as they are simply easier/less work for a similar amount of money to what they would earn at a job. If you see the statements at more of a face value then they are fairly accurate.

  9. "Lies, damned lies, and statistics"

  10. Maybe, but there would be little way to enforce it. I mean, there are already laws, regulations, ordinances in place in every state, county and city in the US that can affect remote workers. But how does the government know that I work from home? Who is going to write the citation and with what proof? If my company is in another state or country, who checks on my attendance and commute?

  11. I still have Slashdot on my Feedly, but IMHO it's not what it used to be. Most (but not all) headlines I see there I already saw somewhere else 12 hours earlier. And even though I fit squarely into this demographic myself, it's very, very obvious that the average Slashdotter is a cantankerous 40+ year old techie sitting in a poorly-lit basement, illuminated by the soft green glow of a linux terminal that only they know how to maintain.

  12. 40+? Seems like they were trending 40+ in 2004. I'd say 60+.

  13. He's not an interviewer (eg Fallon), he's a distinguished journalist. Whoever matched these two up for an interview was the moron.

  14. In my opinion the reporter’s actions don’t back up your claim that he’s “distinguished.”

  15. I've watched a lot of Murthy over the past two decades, he's often reporting from warzones and such, when he's not the lead anchor for Channel 4 News. A quick search on YouTube will show you all sorts of things he gets up to which is really credible, valuable journalism. This interview does not get included in that list!

  16. I’m sure. But that certainly didn’t come through in this interview.

  17. Congratulations on your endeavor! It is definitely possible.

  18. In the US, the NBA, NFL, MLB, MLS and NHL are not restricted to male-only athletes. What sports are popular in your country?

  19. It used to be a convent and nursing school attached to St. Elizabeth Hospital, which was the neighboring building

  20. … so there’s a chance that it’s haunted by nurses and nuns?

  21. It's nothing so interesting as a cult compound. It's a condo or apartment conversion that ran out of money.

  22. Anything can be a cult compound if you can imagineer it!

  23. Are the mods asleep? This sub is for “Idiots IN Cars.” This guy is clearly 50%+ outside of the car. What is this sub coming to?! /s

  24. Valid comparison, I was still somewhat young and new to politics then, but the swift boat saga was gross. I just never expected them to turn that madness on their own leaders.

  25. So my sister has a (useless) diploma from one of these schools in Texas. If you want to know how shit a school it was, school was an hour of prayer and Bible discussion and 7 hours of outdoor time. For her final she was allowed to bring it home. It had 5 questions, all multiple choice, and I believe the most complex one was asking the lines of, "Which historical figure built an ark to save all the animals during the great flood."

  26. New College isn’t “one of these schools.” Maybe it will be, but it isn’t. Not yet.

  27. Because Republicans can’t make money off legal cannabis. Right now cronies get contracts, who then donate to politicians. Also, they lose their prison population. Someone has to keep those prisons profitable.

  28. John Boehner is now a legalization advocate… because he’s now making money off his investments in cannabis.

  29. They meant numerous jobs were saved, not numerous series.

  30. Shows that Joe Rogan is a complete idiot building out an empire in a liberal city in a conservative state.

  31. Be fair. There’s so many better examples of Joe Rohan being a complete idiot.

  32. He still played the music for the band and it’s ok for people to appreciate his contributions to their favorite music.

  33. Not to mention the administrative and maintenance costs. File with insurance, order a replacement, delivery, etc. I’m surprised the number is so low, but maybe there’s some business reason - easier to charge on most people’s credit card, send to collections, small claims court, etc.

  34. Sounds like you came to the right place! Much more welcoming.

  35. 15 years? Not without major global economic upheaval. 25 years? Maybe.

  36. Tilray will never be heard of again in 2 years

  37. I don't know. Their "fizzle out" could be legendary... or at least they could be remembered as a cautionary tale for a few years.

  38. Tilray, Aurora, canopy, hexo(which tilray bought for some reason). Pooof. All gone in 2 years.

  39. What about my assumed name (and persona) I use for salespeople/telemarketers?
