I for one was never a big fan from the jump. I watched season 1 and was kind of disappointed, but as I allowed myself to continue watching I found the writing improved for season 2 and also for season 3 (mostly). That’s when I became a big fan for the show and rooted for the saga.
Honestly, yea, Rayla kind of carried the show in the past and I'm a little sad to see her regulated to the background. However, they may have done this to give Ezran a time to shine, as in the last saga we focused on Rayla and Callum, but more so Rayla. I expect this saga to focus on Callum and Ezran to build up their strength and character, especially Ezran as his character was poorly handled in season 3. I just wished we could also see more of a show of the divide as well, as tales of Xadia does. Like wouldn't it be interesting if Jani's brother had more success and lead a full-fledged army against her? Possibly being manipulated by Aaravos as well, I mean we know he loooves his strong-hearted mages, and he is exactly that.

I'd try getting a job in Katolis, or any other city that accept me, and then I'd try to develop a primal connection. Even if I couldn't make one, I'd still learn about magic.
