  18. 40-50 years old is considered old, but treat it on the case by case basis, some are very well run, others not so much, most will have larger square footage, often better soundproofing, but also will not feel modern and this is what many buyers, especially younger once, are looking for.

  19. Gotcha. Thanks for answering. One more question- what happens if they decide to demolish? What are the next steps for owners in such situations? Do they get compensated or allotted a living space elsewhere?

I would say high maintenance fees are the most commonly associated problem when it comes to buildings from the 70’s - 80’s, maintenance will only go higher and higher to the point where it’s as if it’s a mortgage payment. I think many of them will actually be demolished and replaced with newer condo developments within the next 15-20 years as well.

  21. If I happen to own, and live in a unit, and the building is set be demolished, what is the process for that? Of course I would be notified well in advance, I can hope for that, but what happens after that? Wondering if anyone has come across this situation.
