  1. Damn, that's so cool that longtime contributors to the subreddit

  2. wow that's pretty cool, it would be even cooler if i was producing it again this week

  3. Stacked challengers league, can't wait :D

  4. Let’s go, I hecking love EG. This is the script right here, I believe

  5. Pretty sure that SR has only been back to practice for a week or so now. Tough going out this early but not worth reading into much.

  6. I find it funny how people were up in arms over a single elimination bracket for Sao Paulo without recognizing that a) this is also a single elim bracket and b) V1 has only been together for a couple of weeks. I'm not claiming V1 is going to be tier 1 by any stretch of the imagination, but they put up a reasonable showing last week and had a rougher one this week. Teams like City Boys didn't make it past ro64 last week and lost to a "random team", but no one reacted this way. Open quals can be unpredictable, and people are unnecessarily harsh to teams like V1 when this happens ALL THE TIME with other teams. Obviously the team needs work and time, I'm not claiming that there's not improvement to be made, but the level of reaction to V1's elimination seems a bit extreme.

  7. there is a skill ceiling diff between both leagues, Just the fact that men’s vct require Immo or Asc at least and gc require plat is a hint on how different it is. maybe in few years they may catch up

  8. Correction here: there was no rank requirement for open quals this event at ALL. A team of gold players literally could have joined open quals, both for last week and for this week of LCQ. Pretty sure a dia-plat team did participate.

  9. You HAVE to understand how grueling a three week long event is on production staff (not to mention insanely expensive if you want to counteract this). If you want 3 games a day to do a groups stage, you're asking for 11 hour days for production MINIMUM, and that's if everything goes smoothly. It is absolutely exhausting to ask for that, and it is not easy to rotate off staff or let people take breaks during a live show. You lose sleep working that long. It is asking for too much from production, especially for a MONTH STRAIGHT.

  10. I think this is a valid point, but also doesn't apply as heavily in franchising--not because the partnership teams don't work hard, but because they have more guaranteed opportunities to appear again. No one had to compete to attend this tournament, it's not like anyone has been working super hard to qualify for the event (at least not in a direct sense), so it would be different for Tokyo or Champs where there's actual qualification. This tournament has been advertised from the beginning as a showcase--that's why 32 teams are attending, and that's why there's too many teams to do a more complex format.

It is asking for too much from production, especially for a MONTH STRAIGHT. Multiple streams are not a solution, either. LAN events require significantly more staff, and multiple streams literally doubles or triples the costs. You're not just talking paying the staff for multiple weeks, you're talking paying travel and hotel fees too. That is INSANELY expensive. I get it, Riot is wealthy, but it's not like they have an infinite budget. Also, it is legitimately in parnership orgs' best interest to be on the main stream once and have guaranteed viewership over potentially not being streamed or getting a fraction of the viewership and then going home regardless in a groups/swiss format. Ultimately, this is just to showcase all the different partnership teams--single elimination formats are exciting since it means every game has stakes. Not every tournament has to be a super thorough in-depth format. It'll still be fun.

  12. i hecking loved dazeddreams, very cool observer

  13. man good for them, hard not to root for this team. toast getting emotional on stream was wholesome

  14. Can confirm we're attending to this urgent problem with all possible speed (well,

  15. God I love having steel in the scene lmfao

  16. I think for the large majority of people, it’s all in good fun and people aren’t actually taking them that seriously. It’s fun to ride the hype train, nothing wrong with that inherently as long as it’s done with an understanding that it’s not actually that serious. There are def people that read into it too much but at the end of the day it’s fun and ultimately harmless in most cases.

  17. Forget Chamber, Sova meta is BACK BABY 😎 (I am a Sova main)

  18. Breeze being gone is a pretty big hit for him, but Bind kinda balances that out. He was bad on Split even in his old OP form, and Lotus doesn't seem like a great map for him either. Think he's in a good place overall.

  19. Yeah alas the map rotation does not exactly help but I imagine he’ll be solidly in the meta on Ascent, Haven, and Icebox, and he’s seeing more and more play on Pearl too. I’ll take the W though, at least there’s now a more even share between him and Fade.

  20. One thing worth nothing is that Barracks (the program that runs the official broadcast overlays) is NOT an easy program to run. It's finicky and usually requires a separate person dedicated to keeping it functional (or at least takes up a lot of the producer's attention during a broadcast).

  21. that team has to go beat some allegations first

  22. I’m fine with this logic, but you need to add this to the rules and you should be specific. I can see this being abused and being used to cover up bad behavior, especially if it’s by someone the mods are favorable to.

  23. For what it's worth, there was a lot of discussion on this concern--and initially our plan was to leave it up with a pin so as to prevent harassment but to allow the community to discuss the behavior. However, once things reached a certain point, we decided to pull it to make sure no one was put in any kind of legitimate danger.

  24. yes the mods will definitely delete your comments just because you asked them to!

  25. Unfortunately I've never had protein pancakes, so can't make a judgement on if they suck or not :P

  26. SJDS. Natalie’s endgame is one of my favorites of all time by a winner.

  27. Honestly I’m floored that Reed or Josh haven’t been brought back. Both of them were brilliant players and I would love to see either of them get a second shot.

  28. Unironically one of my favorite seasons. Cochran is one of my all time favorite players and he was brilliant this one. I’m a late fan to survivor so I was floored to find out people didn’t like this season. Also it was like the perfect amount of insane/funny and good strategy.

  29. Is it a real nerf or did riot mess with something and bugged the smoke?

  30. It is a real nerf upcoming in the patch on Tuesday

  31. I would pay steel to tweet this after a match

  32. I am not ashamed to be out EG’d by nocturnavi. She and I are allies as the only two EG fans in the sub
