  1. I'd imagine the trans fees from Japan for any band under the top three lines is more than they typically pay. Probably only works out when the band is big enough to work it into a U.S. tour.

  2. Lots of excellent logic and reasoning in the comments.

  3. Also no one being vaguely critical due to cowardice. You wanna talk about how great Braun's war on woke is, sack up and do it. Why not defend a position instead of only criticizing its detractors?

  4. not defending Braun, just pointing out the truth.

  5. Oh, good, you're just a lazy cynic that constantly spouts "both sides" so they can feel smart. How dare I question your lack of substance.

  6. I think the post OP had a better argument.

  7. I just recently found them through Kirby Down B. Good stuff. I could see them being there.

  8. They found a perfectly good Astromech and a Protocol Droid just abandoned in the desert. I’d say they were fair salvage.

  9. Arguably, they were detritus from a shipwreck, which is often legal salvage on our planet, although I imagine the Empire would disagree.

  10. Would it technically be a shipwreck though, if the Tantive IV wasn't actually destroyed? The ship was captured intact, and actually survived the war.

  11. The ship in question being the escape pod, just as if a lifeboat fell off of a sea-going ship.

  12. She's going to get paid big time. Clear cut violation of federal law. What a waste of taxpayer money.

  13. You aren't nearly the expert on federal discrimination laws you believe yourself to be.

  14. Choosing a lesser evil is still choosing evil. Its sad we have to choose between douche and a shit sandwich.

  15. LOL, and Rainwater is good? He's just another ignorant, contrarian, amateur like every other libertarian.

  16. A: the stated intent of X to be a town square where everyone has the ability to exercise their free speech (in accordance to the legal precedent set by their country)

  17. One's intent doesn't change the definition of censorship, but one could certainly consider financial pressure suppression.

  18. B: the definition of censorship is the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security.

  19. So Musk pulling funding has no impact on Lemon's development of the show?

  20. It must be translated for the English to be so similar to current English, so the references are also translated.

  21. I'm guessing the reason the government isn't open about UFOs is because many UFOs are either American secret military projects, or foreign adversaries. In both cases, they may not be transparent for national security reasons.

  22. Don't forget foreign allies. There's a certain level of light espionage that is expected across the board, and calling it out is a diplomatic headache.

  23. Taxis were known for high prices, shit service, archaic practices, and dangerous driving before rideshares came around, that's what created the opportunity. They largely maintained their businesses through captured regulation, such as the medallion system.

  24. There was nothing stopping taxi companies from making an app in 2010, or giving customers the cost of their ride up-front, but they didn't, and are still dragging their feet on 21st century practice. The only thing that motivates any improvement from them is rideshares eating their lunch.

  25. It's definitely not this. But I'm sure I'll get down voted. I grew up with real rednecks, banjo music is traumatic to me lol.

  26. Banjos started with black folks, the rednecks stole them.

  27. Good, I hope the law gets passed. Pornography is destroying the brains of young men nationwide.

  28. It already did. What destroyed your brain?

  29. I'm in Europe right now, and there are sometimes websites that I can't access because of the EU's privacy laws. The idea that websites need to ask to store cookies for different purpose, and such. Some website just decided, "Nah, can't deal with these restrictions" and blocked traffic from European users. And that's their right.

  30. Pretty sure they're still blocked in the other states that have done this. It is possible that the financial liability makes it not worthwhile for an American business that can be easily prosecuted.

  31. Until he runs out of money, he's eccentric.

  32. Yeah and “respected the velvet ropes in Statuary Hall” don’t forget that lol people being led thru by police, it’s recorded.

  33. They weren't there to look at statues, they were trying to end American democracy.

  34. Who please provide a case. You can't just list everybody. If your case is that those people get prosecuted I mean sure that might happen but that will happen in blue states as well. You need to provide me with an example of somebody from those groups that is being prosecuted for POLITICAL reasons.

  35. More pointless bureaucracy from the party of big government.

  36. Because it's a step towards a payment platform making decisions about what their platform can be used to purchase. Imagine your credit card company not allowing purchases of certain goods with their platform.

  37. Free market says just stop doing business with that company.

  38. I just want to understand how he is a con man that’s all. I have no love for trump, but I just don’t understand how he is what you’re saying?

  39. Are you really so completely clueless that you missed the massive NY fraud conviction that got him banned from doing business in the state?

  40. This should be a good sausage talk. I know Geoff has made some references to some F**face things being organized outside RT, maybe preparing for something like this. Like, who owns the Museum objects?

  41. Yeah, if I didn't get my job to cover my fees because we do workshops, I probably would've just lapsed when they asked for money.

  42. I’m on the left but I can’t help but feel this is not true. Trump isn’t the guy to do this, he’s a big dumb baby who will talk a lot of shit and then do basically nothing outside of generic Republican shit in office.. He’s just more embarrassing about it. Most of the time he wasn’t even running anything if internal reports are to be believed. I just don’t see anything in his term (outside the January 6th shit obviously) that Ted Cruz, as a random example, wouldn’t have done.

  43. I don't think he's actually going to become a dictator. I do think he's stubborn and clueless and combined with having nothing to lose in a second term, would force some sort of constitutional crisis in his effort to seek revenge.

  44. Oh I agree with this. I think he would probably cause some sort of constitutional crisis and it would all be really bad. I just don’t think he’s going to successfully become a dictator and end democracy. Too many people at the top have too much to lose to allow that to happen. It would be the end of life as we know it, which at the end of day is really bad for business.

  45. Often, the person pushing for power isn't the one that gets it, but someone does. Whatever we would get on the other side of a Trump crisis would almost certainly be less democratic than what we have now.

  46. We cover Jones extensively as he’s a misinformation monster and this will reenable his wide reach.

  47. Why the trash blog editorial, though?

  48. How do you know that without any way to prove it through the black market of privately sold dogs?

  49. The only black market for dogs in this state is for fighting dogs, and they aren't impacted by this because they were already illegal. This legislation specifically enabled pet factory farming, which lowers the cost of dogs and ensures that more impounds have to be terminated.

  50. That's absolutely not true. You're completely lying. You can go down the street or across town. Or I want to another state or across the ocean. By a dog, no regulation needed.

  51. If the sale of something isn't prohibited, then it doesn't have a black market, it is just unregulated. People are allowed to sell dogs with no government intervention until the point at which the quantity is high enough that they need to be a licensed breeder, just like selling cars. The people that are selling dogs in high enough quantities to need a license but don't have one are largely fight breeders. Non-fighting puppy mills and "decent" backyard breeders get licenses because the cost and bar for them is so low it would be stupid to not pay the fees and lip service to minimum conditions. They supported this bill because they largely already meet the bare-minimum standards present, while they were previously run out of municipalities that set higher standards.

  52. You think the KKK and government policies stopped then? A KKK rally happened in the 1970’s in the town my dad grew up in. You think all the hate, policies, and laws stopped then too?

  53. There a big difference between the KKK existing and being dominant, and people were just fine being racist before and after they were a big deal. At this point the KKK has become an overblown distraction from the non-cosplaying bigots that instituted things like redlining and HOAs. Hell, it didn't require any organization to abandon and gut all the largest cities in Lake County. But I suppose if people didn't pretend it was all the KKK, they might start getting into their grandparents being participants in functional racism.

  54. If you got optimism from that, you're focused on entirely the wrong things.
