you do realize that in the UK a birth certificate has next to no legal status? it's almost entirely symbolic . my own birth certificate simply states "adopted". there's no mention of my father at all. it's a messy and distasteful document. it having the wrong gender on it means less than nothing compared to the rest. i don't want some fake certificate from a government that is already persecuting us.
We're all on different journeys starting from different places. In my case I see it as reclaiming what I feel I should have had at birth. Symbolic if you like.
