You poor thing!!! :( I would suggest stopping the gold bond and the tea tree oil. The undiluted oil is very harsh and the powder has menthol, which can be irritating also. So just keeping it clean and moisturized is best until you see the doctor. An occlusive like Vaseline or Aquaphor would be the best moisturizer for this situation.
It could have. I know when I was a teen with wicked acne I used it on my face thinking it would help and it just made my skin peel off like a sunburn. Although a lot of skin conditions have that side effect, so only your doc will be able to tell you.
