  1. I’ve not been but in the north burbs is Shallots- kosher fine dining from what I understand.

  2. Would not recommend. It's crazy expensive and the food is just not good. I also wouldn't call it Modern Jewish, it's just kosher.

  3. I’ve been to Oriole twice, Ever once and Smyth twice. I’d easily go back to Oriole or Smyth before Ever.

  4. I’m going to plug Logan Square. I think it competes as best neighborhood anywhere in the country. Within easy walking distance you have grocery stores (including one of two food coops in the city), movie theatre, independent book stores, gyms, multiple great breweries, and some of the best bars and restaurants in the city. theres also lots of green space and good transit options. the only downside is its distance from the lake.

  5. Hmmm…..that’s really interesting. Can anyone else confirm whether their blue halo ring sticks around or fades away? I gave it about 3 minutes until it bothered me enough to turn it off. It wasn’t present on any of the other experiences that I tried, Just the “Cosmic Flow”.

  6. I was puzzled by this at first. You have to move the halo onto the start ‘button’ then strap in.

  7. I suggest the Dill Pickle Food Coop in Logan Square which sells seasonal produce from local producers in additional to the usual stuff folks expect. And being a coop, it's member owned and operated.

  8. Logan Theatre in Logan Square is a nice old independent theatre.

  9. The left’s need for ideological purity is a huge problem. We all don’t have to agree on every single issue.

  10. Genocide is a deal breaker for me. Yeah, it's just a little issue. Just the ethnic cleansing of an entire people, but, hey, there just Palestinians right?

  11. Pretty strong words. So what is your proposed solution for the Israel/Palestine conflict?

  12. Carly at Billy Sunday is a genius. They have great NA options and she can make you something amazing if you just ask!

  13. I've been wondering the same thing. I did some digging and according to this website, construction is slated to begin in the fall of this year.

  14. I will second the recommendation for the Dill Pickle. This is a true cooperative organization which presents challenges in a capitalist world. The store is nice, as are the products they sell. The prices are higher than elsewhere. I rationalize this that no one getting rich here. The store needs to make some money, as does the producer and whatever middle man in some cases. These are mostly small companies doing the best they can.

  15. I suggest Night's Black Agents from Pelgrane Press. The default scenario is super-spies fighting vampires, but you could do away with the supernatural if you wanted. They have published adventures that take place in various decades over the 20th and 21st centuries.

  16. Phoenix is terrible. It’s filled with suckers who moved there thinking the only thing that matters to quality of life is a house with a lot of space between you and the next house.

  17. Curious what you didn’t like about Montreal?

  18. I’ve been to Smyth twice and the whole experience both times was incredible. I was last there in Feb 22.

  19. Agree. I have had two much better meals at Oriole than one at Ever.

  20. I agree with this rating. Personally I like the blonde better.

  21. I lived in Toronto for many years and they have great Caribbean food which is really hard to find in Chicago. Specifically roti is a favorite. The only place I’ve found to get roti as good as you can find in Toronto is Cafe Trinidad. It’s a to-go only kitchen but really worth picking up.

  22. I did some research and it turns out this is the standard, you’re supposed to use the lowercase L as a substitute, but this is still something I find to be mildly interesting!

  23. I used to do computer support back in the 90s. I had one person who was having problems with their computer password. He kept putting it in wrong since he didn’t realize the ‘1’ and ‘l’ were different.

  24. I've heard Toronto has really good Caribbean food. I've been twice but both times didn't get a chance to check that out.

  25. I lived there for 10 years and Toronto has amazing Caribbean food. I’ve never found it’s equal in Chicago.

  26. 🫡 just the pod, maybe. tbh i love spoilers but im trying to be more patient

  27. There are some huge plot points that can be spoiled in this show. I’d highly recommended trying to avoid spoilers your first time through.

  28. I was curious about this. Whenever I’m nearby, I notice that Jokers is super dead.

  29. The inside is just not that nice to spend time in. However the food is good so I take out regularly.

  30. Couple suggestions: I like Roleplaying Grenade:
