  1. I do this too, so I can tell you, I don't blink while sleeping. You just freeze (sleep) with open eyes, and I had once ended up going to the doctor thinking I had conjunctivitis, only to find out that it's nocturnal lagophthalmos, which results in dry skin build up in my eye lids 🥲 (the emoji is ironic, haha). So since then, I've been advised to use an eye mask while sleeping, a hydrating gel for my eye lids right before going to bed, and lubricating eye drops 3 times a day. This is lifelong, apparently. 😮‍💨

  2. Dang, sorry to hear it, that does not sound fun. It is nice to know I am not the only one subject to highly involved regular maintenance procedures 🙄.

  3. Was he Persian? I too have received this comment.

  4. We have a Rav4 hybrid and it is pleasant to drive and really sips the gas

  5. I had similar concerns when I first read the post. I definitely did not leave thinking that bed bugs explained away everything, however I do assume the poster is smart enough to assess the situation based on what she experienced.

  6. Whether they remember or not the capacity to enjoy and learn from it is present.

  7. The grooms sister flirted with someone from the brides family and that person had a gf , so they fought and somehow things got worse that the whole two families were fighting, the brides father took her and went back home and they cancelled the wedding and everything, i still feel bad for the couple they loved each other but were separated to not cause any further problem

  8. That is crazy, what is the cultural context here?

  9. Three: Columbia, Brazil, and Peru. River borders are very porous, at least on the Amazon

  10. Might look into cognitive load theory. Basically too much stimuli happening overwhelms working memory, and things don’t get stored into long term memory.

  11. During the reception, the groomsmen picked up the groom to where he was horizontal and paraded him around in a circle while taking off his shoes and shocks. They dipped his toes into the cake and made the bride lick the cake off his toes. I was told it was a "cultural tradition". We were so grossed out we didn't have any cake (even though they weren't serving from the part where his toes were) and left shortly after.

  12. It doesn't necessarily need to be the FBI I don't think, just whatever regulatory agency would oversee the industry. FDA, maybe even OSHA, etc.

  13. This is correct, the appropriate agency is unlikely to be the FBI in this instance.

  14. Alternatively you can leak to the media and give all the receipts. Request to be anonymous, good reporters will always protect their sources. You won’t get outed.

  15. That is the way to end up in court, become a protected whistle blower by reporting through government channels, see Theranos for an example of how the two paths can play out quite differently.

  16. No, it was always explicitly "nine, one, one".

  17. Am i the only one who felt that those snails were slow learners?

  18. He sounded really hurt by it and as much as he affected me and my self worth over time, I kinda feel bad about hurting somebody I once cared about.

  19. Some people need to be hurt and hard truths hurt. You offered him an opportunity to learn you are not responsible for how he reacts to that.
