  1. I was talking to my T about my labor and delivery, I was in labor for 96 hours and I decided to have a c section, but only because I didn’t want my baby to be born on Valentine’s Day, I went on about how Valentine’s Day would be the worst birthday ever… that’s when he told me his birthday was on Valentine’s Day. I felt awful.

  2. This reminds me of my first session with my T where I made the joke that people who ran long distances had to be mentally ill because who would want to do that? She’s like, “You’re right. I’ve run 11 marathons.”

  3. My T and I will often do grounding exercises (stretching, mindfulness, etc) after an upsetting session. We decided to stretch, and she asked me to touch my toes. I bent over, and farted super loudly 😭 I wanted to die

  4. Oh my god. How did you recover? I would have perished immediately 😂💀💀

  5. I have CPTSD and can definitely relate. When you start therapy, especially when you have trauma, it really stirs up a bunch of latent feelings and they take form in unexpected and frustrating ways.

  6. I am so sorry for your loss, OP. I cannot imagine. Be gentle with yourself and allow yourself the space and time to grieve. ❤️

  7. "You're an engineer who's over 50? You're too expensive to hire. I'll just get some wet-behind-the-ears welp who is naive and half as good, but 10 times cheaper."

  8. Or send the position to “offshore”.

  9. Just get ahead of the curve and buy a couch made of shrimp.

  10. I was turned down for a job with TSA because of too much student loan debt. They say because of debt you are potentially a security threat.

  11. Used to process security clearances as my garrison job in the army. I’ve seen someone denied a top secret because they bounced one check ten years prior (but had a credit score of 750+).

  12. It stung the shit out of my skin and left these dry flaky red patches almost like burns. Took about 15 days to totally heal. I’m bummed because my skin loves oat products.

  13. As someone who has a healthy sense of putting the mundane first in situations like these, I honestly feel like it is too much of a coincidence to not be something significant. For that card to jump out, out of all the other cards, is a sign that your aunt is clearly with you and approves of you having her old deck. Perhaps at a later time, if you are interested in doing ancestral work, you may start to connect with her and ask for her advice/guidance through this deck too. For now, I hope you find relief from your physical loss of her through using and playing with her old deck <3

  14. What a huge loss. She's such an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, and pianist. I'm a huge Fleetwood Mac fan and was fortunate to see the whole group together (even Lindsey Buckingham) maybe 6 years ago. I saw Fleetwood Mac without John and Christine as well, and it's definitely not the same energy. She will be missed.

  16. Ahhh I love this! Like a zentangle scene. Did you sketch it out first or just go with it?

  17. It started as a doodle, no sketch, then I realised what scene I was absently doodling. It was weird but cathartic and a sign that I was getting ready to let some things go.

  18. I love IT Cosmetics bb cream. Their formula is my absolute favorite. My only gripe with it is if you happen to have super fair skin, you may not find a shade for you. Their very lightest shade I can only wear in the summer when I have a "tan" lol. But highly recommended if you can find your shade.

  19. I think they just updated their shade range across the spectrum, but on the fair end, it's still not great, at least for my needs. I've seen swatches and the new shades seem pretty strong.

  20. Ugh that's a bummer. Finding makeup in my shade is a challenge. I recently got Makeup Forever HD foundation and it's my PERFECT color. That's never happened for me, haha.

  21. I’ve learned, much to my chagrin because they are so delicious, that I am allergic to duck eggs. They make me violently ill. I can eat chicken eggs. I can eat duck meat. I cannot eat duck eggs. I’ve tried quail eggs, and they don’t seem to do it to me.

  22. That’s wild. My dog can’t eat chicken but he can eat chicken eggs. Regular chicken gives him the shits, bless his heart.

  23. The composition of this is right in. Love this.

  24. Looks like a fun experiment! Limiting yourself to one color and just your fingers. And it came out great :)

  25. Thank you! Yeah the limited palette helps me break out of a creative funk sometimes.

  26. NTA. You cannot be your mother's only source of companionship/entertainment/etc. That's not okay and puts a HUGE burden on you that can absolutely cause a lot of issues for you emotionally later in life. You are not responsible for your mother. I had a mother very much like this and I've spent a LOT of time in therapy unfucking that mess. You do you!

  27. Thanks so much this helped. It’s definitely a “I make my mom sad” type of deal/burden.. so it definitely could take a toll.

  28. Yup, I can definitely relate to that. Once you graduate and get out on your own (or even now if you have the ability), therapy helps so much.

  29. This is actually incorrect. If the toddler is use to being neglected they develop and insecure attachment meaning they won’t cry out when they need attention because they have been conditioned to understand that their caregiver is unable to meet their needs. Infants learn this quite young.

  30. This right here. Thank you for going into this detail for everyone, I feel like a lot of people aren't aware of this. I was neglected as an infant/toddler and I am still dealing with the aftermath at almost 38.

  31. I'm retired and still dealing with it. It doesn't go away on its own. Lots of therapy helps, but there is no instant cure, at least for me.

  32. Thank you so much. Wishing the best for you too. Therapy and EMDR have been a godsend. I’m a totally different person than I was even just 2 years ago before going back to therapy. Still a lot of work to do but have come so far. Hoping the same for you. ❤️

  33. You are ABSOLUTELY the asshole here. YTA.

  34. This turned out SUPER cool!!! What colors did you use?

  35. Didn't realize Pulte was building at the James.

  36. Oil in first place with acrylic in second. Alcohol ink third. :)

  37. What happened to this sub? Used to be so much beautiful art here
