  1. So are you thinking that all 3 of those rolls came from the same pro pack? If so, that's pretty interesting, and if you want to mail me all 3 negs I'll figure it out.

  2. Do you need the whole roll? I got stuff to print on all three rolls, but have the blank bits at the end if you can do anything with that.

  3. Why one roll doesn’t have frame marks, washed differently, and didn’t have a seal.

  4. I know that this makes physical/chemical sense and it also lines up with my experience, but I'm always slightly amused when a 150-year-old technology is claimed to last 1000 years. Did time travelers slide us a heads-up?

  5. We can simulate a lot of the things that degrade materials (UV, heat, moisture, air pollution, oxidation) and have pretty good ideas for how much of anything stuff can withstand, that’s why it’s all caveated with “stored properly.”

  6. It’s worth it to me, but I like to print bigger than 8x10. I shoot Holga, Bronica SQ-Ai, Mamiya 6 and Fuji GA645, and will probably get rid of one of the last 3 sometime soon just because I feel like there’s a lot of overlap in how I use them. Holga’s its own thing.

  7. Pizza Cafe LA is worth a try though my pies there, the first one was the best Detroit I’ve ever had (and I grew up outside Detroit), then a top 10 pie, then a totally mediocre one, then a pretty good one. But the first was mind blowing and I’m going to chase that dragon.

  8. The good news is that this is super easy to fix when you print the images

  9. Is that the point though? Shouldn't they still get it at the same time as everyone else period?

  10. Yeah, it’s just neither that sinister nor that significant

  11. I believe you, I just feel like this pearl clutching vs. hand waving argument that seems to be happening is less an acknowledgment of the situation more than a surrender to it. But such has it always been.

  12. I guess it makes more sense if you know that the BLS used to have a policy where media organizations got pre-access to the stats while everyone else was embargoed (changed in 2020), and that the BLS used to until about two months ago have a policy of not making any official statements until several hours after the report was released (because they wanted the news to be reported by third parties). So it’s more that these banks were getting info that used to be just for reporters to get early access to, and since the changes to reporting were already in the works when this happened, again, it feels like it was something a little dumb & lazy for some low-level BLS dude, not a conspiracy with any broader implications.

  13. Because our budget is based on sales and income taxes, which are wildly variable from year to year (especially at the top, when a movie star might make $50 million one year then nothing for two years as they work on the next project).

  14. I feel like Prop 13 makes revenue MORE consistent

  15. No. It means less reliance on the property taxes, which are pretty consistent, and more reliance on sales and income taxes, which are more volatile.

  16. read ahead to page 64-68. given that OP has already been turned down by a few lawyers, I'm not sure we have all the facts. but a 60 day notice against a month-to-month is nothing unusual

  17. You mean where it says that just cause is needed to terminate tenancy?

  18. I live on Talmadge. The studio literally goes up to the line on that block, which has East Hollywood on one side and Los Feliz on the other. It's much closer to the core of Los Feliz, the Hillhust and Vermont commercial districts, than the core of Silverlake, around the reservoir, with an outpost at Sunset Junction, and is closer to the neighborhood vibes of East Hollywood, which are literally across the street and continue into the Virgil and Hoover corridors.

  19. I always love the Argus; I come from their home town

  20. I don’t understand… there’s always going to be some portion of people who are between jobs. How would any system where people have the freedom to leave a job or change jobs not have some unemployment rate?

  21. That is not the point, the point is unemployment is needed to drive the system, as mentioned above with inflation and employment levels being explicitly discussed as fiscal levers.

  22. While some people think unemployment is good to keep labor costs down, it's not necessary to "drive" capitalism.

  23. With full employment, there's more demand than there are workers so basically every worker is either getting their first job or moving from a job to a job, and quitting to start your own company isn't unemployment. There's functionally zero unemployment.

  24. Lol I'm skilled enough to get all of the mirror in a shot come at me bro

  25. He fell to me 3 years in a row after me saying never again. Dude puts up quality numbers but it somehow never feels like it when he’s on your team. It’s bizarre.

  26. I’d change that to say don’t work for free where other people get paid

  27. Though, to be fair, we’re both commenting here for free ;)

  28. Which gallery? Have you gone back and asked them?

  29. The best answer is just make your own website where you can have a password protected gallery and link to it. Otherwise, no, it's not illegal to have NSFW stuff on google drive. It might be against their TOS, but worst case, you'll just get that portion of the drive blocked.

  30. Immortals Fenyx Rising, often on sale, copied a lot of Zelda good ideas + Greek mythlogy.

  31. Fenyx is definitely the "we have BOTW at home" game. I haven't played it at all since TOTK came out.

  32. Real question, is there even enough mental health & rehab services in LA County to serve housed residents at this time who don't have high enough incomes to pay for private care?

  33. I’m coming back to this because that guy made Piss Christ on film, and that’s been endlessly discussed. Your generic b&w boudoir photo isn’t doing it for me, do something more interesting

  34. lol they locked that thread bf I could make an onlyfans joke

  35. The best way is probably going to be running down the galleries that represent these artists individually, ie tracking down Nix's reps for the Nix piece, etc. They'll have the best approach to the market, because managing estates and catalogs is what they do.
