  7. This happened to my mom recently, also a 2017 Santa Fe with 106k miles. There’s a bearing failure in these Kia and Hyundai engines that can cause the motor to lock up. If it is this issue, they will replace the engine under warranty. Call Hyundai corporate and complain about it. They should be able to get the car towed to a Hyundai dealer and have it inspected. If they for determine this is the issue, they’ll provide rental assistance and cover towing.

  8. No warranty is going to cover an engine that has never gotten an oil change. It's also not usually hard to tell that common maintenance like that has not been done. Even if the engine IS faulty, the oil coming out as sludge is going to void it.

  12. My 82 year old dad was just talking about explosive mortar shells the Viet Cong would launch at them sometimes. Mostly they hit the ground and caused a big crater. But the earth absorbs a lot of the energy. They thought the VC had mortar shells that would explode above ground, triggered by hitting tree branches, or something lightweight like that. My dad was in the Navy and he said they got a ton of chicken wire from the Air Force to build really tall "fences" that would hopefully trigger the shells to explode far enough away from where their buildings and tents were.

  17. Typically these are in meat packing facilities or food processing related. $4,000 does seem a bit high though, think the galvanized steel electric ones with 6k capacity run around $12k with the battery. Work in the material handling industry
