  1. Congratulations and great job! Perseverance can pay off! Keep working hard and networking and who knows how far you can go.

  2. I am guessing she has already signed the agreements which will pay her a metric shit tonne.

  3. Not everyone gets significant scholarships, not everyone can live with parents, going to a CC can cause transferring issues, requiring retakes. Many people doing everything you suggested are graduating with 50k+ in debt still, which is still ridiculous

  4. Most people who take debt graduate with under 30k total debt. It’s about choices. 50k debt balances are not required to graduate

  5. 26.7% net profit, the majority of which is investment gains. 12% gross profit on the actual operation of the corporations that are wholy owned by BH. So it seems like the actual operations are worth less than the growth of the perceived value of the various stocks held by the company. Not sure what to make of that.

  6. It’s more a function of accounting. GAAP requires mark to market accounting of unrealized capital gains as part of operating income (losses) for public investments held in public companies. It reflects market value change rather than the net income for berkshires investments.

  7. There’s no such thing as “withholding sex”. Either they want to have sex with you or they dont. It’s not a punishment

  8. It can definitely be withheld as a punishment lol. You just haven’t been in that type of relationship, and that’s a good thing.

  9. I can't see how Israel is the victim in this. This all started from Israelis taking over a British colony where Palestinians have lived for 10 generations. Or you're just talking about one attack in October?

  10. The shape around 2100 actually looks really healthy and sustainable.

  11. The US is never able to break into the top 7 countries, Luxenburge has just a little under double America's GDP per capita by the end.

  12. Of course, the US has 8.9 times the population of the top 7 countries combined. It's amazing how only 4 countries, with a combined population of 13.8 million people, have a gdp per capita that is at least 50% greater than that of the USA.

  13. Yes, companies with immense profits regularly lay off workers solely for the sake of reporting endlessly higher profit numbers. It's a massive flaw in the way we run businesses and measure success. It's not sustainable, although I doubt the inevitable end to it will occur in my lifetime.

  14. I see this point made all the time, but it's not true at all in this case. PARA achieved peak profitabilty in 2021 with 4.3B in net income, declining in 2022 to 0.6B, and negative 1.5B in 2023. Endlessly higher profits is just a talking point that gets parroted on reddit all of the time, unjustifiably.

  15. FAANG was from SW dev as a acronym for desirable companies to work for. Not about stock market.

  16. Believe it or not. FANG was coined by Jim Cramer of all people in 2013. It then became used by SW devs later on.

  17. Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't they recently admit that all of the treatments for these types of conditions are based on a study where the results were falsified and proven bunk? So therefore, would any medication that is supposed to treat these conditions actually do anything even if found at an early stage?

  18. Not really. That study did have an effect on a lot of research, but Alzheimer’s research had already shifted away from a sole focus on amyloid as, since you would imagine, the results of that invalid study were not replicable.

  19. Nah, i just recruited IB in MBA and there were several 30+ year old 1st year MBAs in my class who just got IB offers at some of the top banks. 29 is fine.

  20. Volkswagen is the largest car company in the world. They can afford it.

  21. Disagree. The airline gives you a cheap seat and if you want more space, you can pay more. They’ve made flights more accessible to the masses

  22. When they apply to the situation. The streaming market is incredibly fragmented and competitive (numerous players) and given how Disney already had effective control over Hulu, this move is barely a hint of consolidation.

  23. Yeah, I mean, they are physically unable to ask if the applicant needs a work permit/visa. Some people tried doing that, but as soon as first word left their mouths, they started choking and died.

  24. Okay hear me out I kind of understand cos why would you do that 😭 there is so many seats 💺 person space is a thing when it can be helped

  25. I only see 3 seats available in the video. The one he is sitting in, the one in the back (inbetween two other people), and the seat he moves to (which could be next to another person. Idk how you can assume there are so many seats when these are the only three in the video.

  26. Okay so let’s say that Hamas is to blame. Should Israel massacre tens of thousands of Palestinian people because of Hamas’s incompetence?

  27. If Hamas terrorists are holding them hostage as human shields, an explosive response is still necessary to exterminate the Hamas terrorists. In this case, the answer to your question is yes, but due to the Hamas terrorists’ malicious intent rather than incompetence.

  28. they're not holding them hostage as human shields. it makes no sense. human shields aren't effective against bombs. critical thinking people.

  29. It’s not to protect against bombs. The terrorists are using human shields to generate goodwill toward the terrorist political aims and negative goodwill toward Israel. More civilian casualties = more negative press coverage towards Israel = an objective for Hamas.

  30. So, let me get this straight the entirety of their business, let me guess, all the other stores nationwide are going to have raised prices too and it's because of CA locations having a better minimum wage lolol. Wtf ever. If your business cannot afford to pay an actual living wage you are doing bad business. Such a radical idea, I know.

  31. They can’t afford to pay a higher wage without raising prices, so they are raising prices. I don’t get your point?

  32. The point is they cant afford to raise wages without losing profit....and they rather take more money from the customer than to take from pockets of the people at the top.

  33. Yes? They are a business. Why should they lose profit if they are forced to raise wages.

  34. if you don't have any work experience, don't get an MBA. The benefits of an MBA generally come via career switching and companies hiring MBA roles won't take you seriously without at least 3-5 YOE.

  35. 3 years can be enough, its on the younger side, so you'd need some promotions to make a good case to attend a high rank school. If you want to do consulting, you'd be best equipped at a T15 MBA program for MBB Associate positions. If you go MBB, debt won't really matter that much as your income will be pretty good.

  36. This is so sad. Why can't Hamas just release the captives and turnover power to the PLO.
