From an article that another person posted, the aggressor pulled some kind of blade but got disarmed during their fight. The victims friend then stabbed the aggressor with his own knife. The aggressor then pulls a gun, gets disarmed by the victim, and then shot in the head with his own gun. So basically he got done by his own weapons that he was too inept to use.

Pretty much any video from any streaming service is going to be compressed, a Blu-ray is definitely going to look better. How much better is up to debate though, personally I think most streamed anime looks fine, assuming you have a good Internet connection.

Episode 1 of the 2003 anime is very close to the beginning of the manga (though episode 2 adds extra content and deviates somewhat)
