They're doing the same with electric cars. Better batteries? Great will load up as many as possible and make the car more expensive but with better range! I don't want or need that. Put in less batteries, and give me a cheap car with a moderate range for driving around where I usually drive. I can borrow or rent a car for longer trips.
Right now EVs are trying to be gas cars to win over more people. At some point enough people will have EVs that they'll start to be their own thing and we'll get a wider variety. In general the US is making crazy huge vehicles compared to every other country.

What's more likely is you would be able to walk over the raging river. In that way, it is a lot like free flying. If your DM allows the flying races, it likely wouldn't be an issue.

This is the way. Ask the paleontologist what to mark it with before cutting to keep the outer pieces in order then remove in sections as described.
