  1. I'm curious, were you on the sky island(mod) and had that event?

  2. Yes, it protects against intense light like lasers. Most of the time it doesn't mater that much since its built into armors and I haven't run into a situation where I thought I needed better light protection.

  3. What does the workout action do exactly? I mean besides tiring your character out, it doesn't seem to train athletics. I'm referring to the one when you press enter then misc then workout.

  4. After a long time, I've finally managed to play again.  Oh boy, are there a lot of new features. I really like the fact that you can now connect your electrical devices to your car somehow. Are there any other things I've missed? I got out last time when the grappling mechanic was reworked.

  5. You can set up electrical grid outside of vehicles, such as a bunch of solar panels and batteries then hook up a recharging station, this will charge batteries slowly and one at a time. This is also beneficial since you can connect all sorts of devices that needed batteries before to function, like an arc welder or soldering iron. A refrigerator and freezers are in general easy to set up with a few solar panels and batteries.

  6. Is this from a mod by chance? I feel like I've seen most of the crazy shit the cataclysm has to throw at me but never a vampire

  7. It comes from the mod Xerda Evolved.

  8. I would prefer the idea of more stronger and interesting enemies in the late game to threaten late-game characters.

  9. But there are force multiplier enemies that exist, like the zombie necromancer type. Even shocker zombies will kind of wreck your day by stunning you with the electricity and letting other zombies get close. Then again, the idea of what a late game character looks like is probably different for each person.

  10. Yeah, they are great, especially early on. Though, there is a chance they have a bunch of zombie soldiers and bio-operators.

  11. You might want to take a look again at rule 7 for this sub.

  12. It seems like loot zones doesn't sort out items in containers. That is, if I drop a box with items inside into an unsorted zone then sort my zones, I don't move any of the internal items into their appropriate places. Is there a way around this or do I have to drop every individual item on the ground?

  13. Put an unload everything zone in the unsorted zone and a higher in the list then the others. It does seem to avoid unloading stuff that you can't pick up again, like water so it should be safe to do.

  14. How is gun damage vs mobs calculated? The wiki says that you subtract the ap from enemy cut protection and then subtract that from gun damage to get the result (and then presumably add variance), but that seems, uh, too simple? I don't know, it seems strange if that's still the case, since it would mean the "best bullet" is essentially just whichever one has the highest total number, which sounds strange, for example a hollowpoint round doing more damage against a kevlar hulk than a fmj round because the hollowpoint has a slightly higher total.

  15. It is kind of that simple, for smaller ammo, like the 9x19mm handguns it becomes beneficial to use armor piercing ones since its a trade off of 2 damage for 4 ap. Crit does balance that out a bit since the crit damage happens before the damage reduction on the armor. There is still variance on the damage and your own skill multiplier as well.

  16. Is this before or after they got rid of chicken walkers?

  17. Which part? The removal of the crazy AI stuff has been swapped out for other stuff as far as I can tell. There isn't tank drones that I've seen but there are those exodii walkers that I've seen once and didn't dare get near them to see if they were hostile. And no, I haven't payed close attention to the development, but I did play way back then.

  18. A lot of people mentioned the “infamous” chicken walkers that see you from very far and blow houses up.

  19. The tank drone was what blew houses up and was the bane of vehicles. The chicken walkers were a major problem since they moved faster then the player and could both shoot and see fairly far away. Those fell under the crazy AI stuff, which was programed to kill the rioters but didn't consider the zombies to be alive so ignored them. Other things included the camera drone which appeared if an alarm ever went off, it would take your photo then call in usually riot suppression bots, but it had a chance of calling in those other nasty stuff.

  20. Can you change world settings midgame, specifically stopping monster evolution midgame? What I'm thinking of doing is using a spawn delay to something like a year into the apocalypses with normal monster evolution speed enabled. Then as soon as I start the game I will turn evolution off so that there will be a good variety of normal zeds that will never evolve, as well as hulks and other higher level zeds. Does anyone know if this will work?

  21. I don't know if it will work mid way through a save game but you can edit the world options .json to edit the monster upgrade factor to 0. There is a chance it will work, but I do not know for certain.

  22. The only thing I can think of is the weapon proficiency applies to the knife but not the bayonet, or possibly a different proficiency applies to it. Still weird its both lighter and higher damage, then again, the description says its ww2 era vs cold war era.

  23. Automated AI program that seeks out the most powerful and/or vulnerable marks. AI generates a custom script tailored to attack their personality flaws using publicly available info on Social Media. AI impersonates the voice of their loved ones on said custom script.

  24. This is more leading to the dark forest theory, where nothing is heard since doing so will lead to unwanted attention.

  25. What is the meaning of the 'Activity' stat in the sidebar?

  26. That is how much work your did from the last activity, it ties into how fast your stamina drains. As your fatigue drops the time it takes to complete tasks increases as well, it also effects your weariness, which can increase your fatigue drain by up to 250%. Make sure to use |, or shift \ on a normal keyboard and use the option to catch your breath instead of just working through no remaining fatigue.

  27. I managed to stop it with bandages, but not before I want into severe (I forget the exact adjective) hypovolemic shock. I didn't know that's what it was, and some of the messages looked like I might be turning into a zombie, so I wasted some antibiotics and antifungal drugs before I figured it out. Managed to survive, though. Still on that playthrough - at 20 days now, my longest by about 2 weeks so far :)

  28. Ah, nice job then. I kind of dread the difficulty ramp up after surviving a month, but don't let that worry you too much.

  29. Hello. I'm looking for some ideas/suggestions regarding lore and art direction. I have been working on this mod for a while now but have decided to put the actual coding on the backburner for a bit now that 1.5 has been announced and focus more on making graphics. The idea of the mod is to add more fire-based weapons to Rimworld, as well as more fire-retardant gear and armor like firefigter suits, helmets, etc. I find myself pretty limited in my ability to burn my enemies alive in the base game. I've also been toying around with the idea of a custom faction that uses these weapons and armor, but I'm stuck on what lore the faction should have. I want it to fit within the vanilla rimworld universe. Im thinking maybe corrupt Urbworld Fire Department (ironic, I know) turned towards piracy. Or a unit of Imperial anti-insectoid shocktroops gone rouge. Maybe a militant fire-worshiping cult? I would love to hear any ideas/suggestions about the lore, sprites, or just the mod in general.

  30. Well, if you make it just an item set then you could name it "Fighting with fire", otherwise you could name it after the faction if you make one. Though, for the sake of some people, try to separate the items and the faction and make the faction dependent on the item set.

  31. Curious, what changed in 1.5 regarding this KB?

  32. Pawns can no longer shoot through obstacles near them, they need to be able to aim around or over it. Its an on going test and fixing things since at day 1 of 1.5 beta, pawns behind a wall and an open door would have a chance of throwing a grenade on themself, but that got fixed.

  33. Get Rimpy, make backups of all the mods your using in a playthrough, if the new version breaks it then use the beta system to go back to 1.4 and use the backed up mods to finish your playthrough.

  34. It doesn't aim for the neck as much as it bends the head in a way the neck breaks.

  35. Decided to see how far I could take human meat farming and stacked meat increasers along with body size increases

  36. Its probably capped since that is already 1,333 stacks of meat from a single butchering. I'm actually curious if that would lag things out or not.

  37. When Old Reddit leaves I’m leaving with it, the few times I’ve seen new Reddit all I’ve seen is hell. Shit, the addition of profile pics and bios alone is one of the worst things to happen to the site because of the freaks who frequent this site now.

  38. They have already been clipping things away from old, such as hiding any button that joins a subreddit, the leave button is usually still there, so I know its intentional. I usually have to switch it to www just for that then go back to normal.

  39. i used it and when i was done it said invalid setup

  40. This was a very long time ago and it would be difficult to troubleshoot it but make sure the blocks are correct and they are rotated in the right direction.

  41. It sucks for both sides. They don't advertise it but Ukrainian soldiers have also taken heavy loses and are still outgunned.

  42. The out gunned is questionable, they can't deploy all those forces they actually have unless they want to just run the risk of areas breaking away from Russia. The loss data is however heavily in favor of Ukraine.

  43. People didn't get bored apparently.

  44. This is really useful to make meals, one that uses meat and tries to make as many as possible then the other uses vegetables set to until you have. That way when you go out hunting it will get cooked right away. Of course that usually when your doing a tribal run or basically before you have a freezer set up.

  45. I'm most excited for Exploration and Diplomacy.

  46. Yeah, the only mod that really made traveling more interesting to me was the real ruins mod.
